After the stock market collapse in 2008, I was let go. After several months of reflection, I chose to pursue my plumbing license and start my own business. I faced challenges in obtaining a business loan, which left me with no choice but to promote my services. For two years, I utilized unemployment benefits provided by President Obama. Since the unemployment money was insufficient for launching my business, I continued to hustle and inform friends and family of my goals. I found it challenging to gain traction, despite my relentless efforts. I discovered in 2011 that Lowes needed installers, and I jumped at the chance. Now, I have established a moderate presence in the plumbing industry, but I am still navigating the challenges. I owe much of my learning to my friend Bill Rucha in Michigan.
