With no access to a business loan, I concentrated on getting the word out about my plumbing services. I depended on unemployment assistance for two years, courtesy of President Obama. As the unemployment benefits fell short of covering my startup costs, I persisted in networking and discussing my aspirations with friends and family. I found it challenging to gain traction, despite my relentless efforts. In 2011, I noticed that Lowes was looking for installers, so I seized the opportunity. I have built a moderate reputation in plumbing, but I am still working to thrive. I owe much of my learning to my friend Bill Rucha in Michigan. I appreciate his support and guidance.
