In 2008, when the stock market crashed, I found myself without a job. Months later, I made the decision to obtain my plumbing license and embark on the journey of entrepreneurship. Securing a business loan proved impossible, so I focused on spreading the word about my services. I depended on unemployment assistance for two years, courtesy of President Obama. The unemployment funds were not enough to start my operations, so I kept networking and sharing my plans with friends and family. Even with my hard work, I struggled to make headway. When I learned that Lowes was hiring installers in 2011, I took action. Now, I have established a moderate presence in the plumbing industry, but I am still navigating the challenges. I owe much of my learning to my friend Bill Rucha in Michigan. I appreciate his support and guidance. I try to return the favor whenever I can. I frequently run my business alone.
