Daryl Welker founded Poor John's Plumbing in 1987. His goal was to create a better life for his family. He met his future wife in 1995, who joined him as a business partner. They operated the business side by side until 2014. Today, their son and nephew manage the business, carrying on the family name.

Bob's Rooter Service was founded was by Bob Trowbridge on November 3rd, 2000. Bob's son Brett joined him during the summer after school hours initially and now works full-time with Bob's Rooter. Bob's path into the construction industry started after his parents bought a local hardware business in the Northeast district of Kansas City situated at St John and Hardesty for a period of ten years. This hardware store was eventually sold back in 1988 when Bob's parents chose to retire. Bob then became the manager at Evergreen Lawn Care located in Grandview, MO, which was later acquired by Barefoot Lawn Services, leaving Bob to seek new employment yet again. In 1991, Bob started working as the manager of the shop for Reddi Services at their previous site in Turner, KS. Eventually, Bob transitioned to fieldwork for Reddi Services as a service tech and continued with them until the spring of 2000 following the loss of his parents. Bob chose to establish his own company and left Reddi Root'r.

After obtaining my master’s license, I craved new challenges, which I found by joining the esteemed Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. During my time there, I built a plumbing department from the ground up, acquiring knowledge of corporate processes and catering to a wide range of customers across the Metro area.

As I taught plumbing classes to new recruits at Roto Rooter, I refined my understanding of different plumbing products. Five years later, inspired by a wish for greater autonomy, I joined forces with Bob Miller to establish Morgan Miller Plumbing in 1997. We envisioned a company that emphasizes fairness and generosity for both employees and customers.

In 2003, Marine Corps veteran Michael Mansell founded Full Nelson Plumbing, driven by the belief that Kansas City residents faced unfair practices from plumbing services.
