Poor John's Plumbing was established by Daryl Welker in 1987. His goal was to create a better life for his family. He met his future wife in 1995, who joined him as a business partner. The couple ran the company together until 2014. Now, their son and nephew continue the family legacy.

Bob's Rooter Service was founded was established by Bob Trowbridge on November 3rd, 2000. Brett, Bob's son, began assisting him in the summer and after school initially and is now a full-time employee at Bob's Rooter. Bob's journey into the construction trades initiated following his parents purchased a hardware store in Kansas City's historic Northeast neighborhood located at St John and Hardesty for a period of ten years. This hardware store was put on the market in the year 1988 as Bob's parents chose to retire. Following that, Bob became a branch manager with Evergreen Lawn Care located in Grandview, MO, which was later taken over by Barefoot Lawn Care, causing Bob to search for new job opportunities once again. In the year 1991, Bob joined as the shop manager at Reddi Services at their old location in Turner, KS. Later, Bob moved to fieldwork at Reddi Services as a service tech and worked there up until spring 2000 after the passing of both his parents. Bob decided to start his own business and left Reddi Root'r.

My plumbing career began thirty-five years ago at Morgan Plumbing & Heating Company. As I progressed to a master’s license, I craved new challenges, which I pursued by joining the well-regarded Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. There, I had the opportunity to establish a plumbing department from scratch, gaining expertise in corporate procedures while serving a diverse customer base throughout the Metro area.

As I conducted plumbing training sessions for new employees at Roto Rooter, I honed my knowledge of various plumbing products. Five years later, inspired by a wish for greater autonomy, I partnered with Bob Miller to co-found Morgan Miller Plumbing in 1997. Our shared vision was to build a company that prioritizes fairness and generosity towards employees and customers alike.

In 2003, Marine Corps veteran Michael Mansell founded Full Nelson Plumbing, driven by the belief that Kansas City residents faced unfair practices from plumbing services.
