Poor John's Plumbing was established by Daryl Welker in 1987. Daryl wanted to enhance his family's quality of life. He met his future wife in 1995, who joined him as a business partner. The couple ran the company together until 2014. Today, their son and nephew manage the business, carrying on the family name.

Bob's Rooter Service began was by Bob Trowbridge in November 2000. Bob's son Brett joined him during the summer and after school initially and is currently a full-time team member for Bob's Rooter. Bob's path into the construction industry began when his parents purchased Land Hardware in Kansas City's historic Northeast neighborhood located at St John and Hardesty for a decade. This hardware store was put on the market in the year 1988 as Bob's parents chose to retire. Bob then became the manager with Evergreen Lawn Care based in Grandview, MO, which was later taken over by Barefoot Lawn Services, prompting Bob to look for new work again. In the year 1991, Bob started working as shop manager with Reddi Services at their old location in Turner, KS. In time, Bob shifted to working in the field at Reddi Services as a service technician and remained with them up until spring 2000 after the passing of both his parents. Bob made the choice to go into business for himself and said goodbye to Reddi Root'r.

I started my plumbing journey thirty-five years ago with Morgan Plumbing & Heating Company. Advancing to a master's license, I desired fresh challenges, which I found by joining the esteemed Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. At Roto Rooter, I was able to create a plumbing department from the ground up, acquiring knowledge of corporate processes and catering to a wide range of customers across the Metro area.

While instructing plumbing classes for new hires at Roto Rooter, I deepened my expertise in various plumbing materials. After five years, motivated by a desire for more independence, I joined forces with Bob Miller to establish Morgan Miller Plumbing in 1997. Our shared vision was to build a company that prioritizes fairness and generosity towards employees and customers alike.

In 2003, Marine Corps veteran Michael Mansell founded Full Nelson Plumbing, driven by the belief that Kansas City residents faced unfair practices from plumbing services.
