Poor John's Plumbing was established by Daryl Welker in 1987. His goal was to create a better life for his family. He met his future wife in 1995, who joined him as a business partner. Together, they managed the company until 2014. Today, their son and nephew manage the business, carrying on the family name.

Bob's Rooter Service began was by Bob Trowbridge in November 2000. Bob's son Brett joined him over the summer and after classes early on and is currently a full-time team member with Bob's Rooter. Bob's path into the construction industry began when his parents acquired a local hardware business in the historic Northeast area of Kansas City located at St John and Hardesty for a decade. The hardware store was put on the market in 1988 when Bob's parents opted for retirement. Afterward, Bob took on the role of the manager at Evergreen Lawn Care in Grandview, MO, which was later taken over by Barefoot Lawn Services, leaving Bob to seek new employment once again. During 1991, Bob took a position as shop manager at Reddi Services at their former location in Turner, Kansas. Eventually, Bob transitioned to the field with Reddi Services as a service tech and continued with them up until spring 2000 when he lost both his parents. Bob chose to establish his own company and left Reddi Root'r.

My plumbing career began thirty-five years ago at Morgan Plumbing & Heating Company. As I progressed to a master’s license, I desired fresh challenges, which I discovered at the respected Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. During my time there, I built a plumbing department from the ground up, gaining expertise in corporate procedures while serving a diverse customer base throughout the Metro area.

As I taught plumbing classes to new recruits at Roto Rooter, I honed my knowledge of various plumbing products. Five years later, inspired by a wish for greater autonomy, I partnered with Bob Miller to co-found Morgan Miller Plumbing in 1997. Our common goal was to create a business that values fairness and generosity for all, employees and customers alike.

Full Nelson Plumbing was established in 2003 by Marine Corps veteran Michael Mansell, who saw that Kansas City residents were not receiving fair treatment from plumbing companies.
