Poor John's Plumbing was established by Daryl Welker in 1987. Daryl wanted to enhance his family's quality of life. In 1995, he met his wife, who later became his business partner. Together, they managed the company until 2014. Today, their son and nephew manage the business, carrying on the family name.

The inception of Bob's Rooter Service by Bob Trowbridge on November 3rd, 2000. Bob's son Brett joined him over the summer and after classes early on and is now a full-time employee at Bob's Rooter. Bob's journey into the construction trades initiated after his parents acquired a hardware store in the Northeast district of Kansas City situated at St John and Hardesty for a decade. The hardware store was eventually sold in 1988 after Bob's parents decided to retire. Following that, Bob became the manager with Evergreen Lawn Care based in Grandview, MO, which was later taken over by Barefoot Lawn, causing Bob to search for new job opportunities once again. During 1991, Bob joined as shop manager with Reddi Services at their previous site located in Turner, KS. In time, Bob shifted to the field for Reddi Services in the role of service technician and worked there until the spring of 2000 when he lost both his parents. Bob made the choice to go into business for himself and left Reddi Root'r.

My plumbing career began thirty-five years ago at Morgan Plumbing & Heating Company. Advancing to a master's license, I sought new challenges, which I found by joining the esteemed Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. During my time there, I built a plumbing department from the ground up, gaining expertise in corporate procedures while serving a diverse customer base throughout the Metro area.

As I conducted plumbing training sessions for new employees at Roto Rooter, I refined my understanding of different plumbing products. After five years, motivated by a desire for more independence, I co-founded Morgan Miller Plumbing with Bob Miller in 1997. Our shared vision was to build a company that prioritizes fairness and generosity towards employees and customers alike.

In 2003, Marine Corps veteran Michael Mansell founded Full Nelson Plumbing, driven by the belief that Kansas City residents faced unfair practices from plumbing services.
