Daryl Welker founded Poor John's Plumbing in 1987. He aimed to improve his family's living conditions. In 1995, he met his wife, who later became his business partner. Together, they managed the company until 2014. Currently, their son and nephew are at the helm, upholding the family tradition.

Bob's Rooter Service began by Bob Trowbridge in the year 2000. Brett, Bob's son, joined him over the summer after school hours early on and is currently a full-time team member for Bob's Rooter. Bob's journey into the construction trades initiated following his parents acquired Land Hardware in the historic Northeast area of Kansas City located at St John and Hardesty for a decade. This hardware store was eventually sold in the year 1988 after Bob's parents chose to retire. Following that, Bob became the manager with Evergreen Lawn Care in Grandview, MO, which was later acquired by Barefoot Lawn Services, leaving Bob to seek new employment yet again. During 1991, Bob joined as shop manager at Reddi Services at their old location in Turner, KS. Later, Bob moved to fieldwork with Reddi Services as a service tech and remained with them until the spring of 2000 when he lost both his parents. Bob made the choice to go into business for himself and said goodbye to Reddi Root'r.

I started my plumbing journey thirty-five years ago with Morgan Plumbing & Heating Company. After obtaining my master’s license, I sought new challenges, which I discovered at the respected Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. At Roto Rooter, I was able to create a plumbing department from the ground up, gaining expertise in corporate procedures and catering to a wide range of customers across the Metro area.

While instructing plumbing classes for new hires at Roto Rooter, I honed my knowledge of various plumbing products. After five years, motivated by a desire for more independence, I co-founded Morgan Miller Plumbing with Bob Miller in 1997. We envisioned a company that emphasizes fairness and generosity for both employees and customers.
