In 1987, Daryl Welker started Poor John's Plumbing. Daryl wanted to enhance his family's quality of life. He met his future wife in 1995, who joined him as a business partner. The couple ran the company together until 2014. Now, their son and nephew continue the family legacy.

The inception of Bob's Rooter Service was by Bob Trowbridge on November 3rd, 2000. Brett, the son of Bob, joined him during the summer and after school initially and is currently a full-time team member for Bob's Rooter. Bob's journey into the construction trades initiated following his parents acquired a local hardware business in the historic Northeast area of Kansas City located at St John and Hardesty for a period of ten years. The hardware store was sold in 1988 when Bob's parents decided to retire. Following that, Bob became the manager at Evergreen Lawn Care located in Grandview, MO, which was subsequently bought by Barefoot Lawn Services, causing Bob to search for new job opportunities again. In 1991, Bob started working as the shop manager at Reddi Services at their former location located in Turner, KS. In time, Bob shifted to fieldwork with Reddi Services as a service technician and continued with them up until spring 2000 following the loss of his parents. Bob chose to establish his own company and parted ways with Reddi Root'r.

As I progressed to a master’s license, I craved new challenges, which I discovered at the respected Kansas City franchise, Roto Rooter. There, I had the opportunity to establish a plumbing department from scratch, acquiring knowledge of corporate processes and serving a broad customer base across the Metro area.

As I conducted plumbing training sessions for new employees at Roto Rooter, I deepened my expertise in various plumbing materials. After five years, motivated by a desire for more independence, I co-founded Morgan Miller Plumbing with Bob Miller in 1997. Our common goal was to create a business that values fairness and generosity for all, employees and customers alike.
