Eldred and Jo Ann Lewis founded the company in 1965 as Lewis Heating & A/C. Situated at 202 S Broadway in Larned, they provided quality Maytag appliances, Motorola TVs, and Coleman heating and cooling systems, along with servicing all brands. They relocated to their present location at 622 Topeka Street in 1971. In 1977, Steven Lewis, their son, entered the business as an HVAC technician. Steven acquired the company from his parents in 2008 and rebranded it as Comfort Systems Inc. to reflect the growing emphasis on comfort and energy efficiency.
Steven holds a State of Kansas license as a mechanical contractor and plumber. He has received training as a home energy rater and has been a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992. Additionally, Steven is NATE certified in duct installation and air distribution.
