In 1971, they moved to their current address at 622 Topeka Street. In 1977, Steven Lewis, their son, entered the business as an HVAC technician. Steven acquired the company from his parents in 2008 and rebranded it as Comfort Systems Inc. to reflect the growing emphasis on comfort and energy efficiency.
Steven holds a State of Kansas license as a mechanical contractor and plumber. Steven is a certified home energy rater and has been affiliated with the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992. Steven is also NATE certified in air distribution and duct installation.

A lifelong resident of Larned, KS, Steven graduated from Leadership Larned and served as a member and then Chair of the Building and Trades Board for the City of Larned. Steven has held all leadership roles within the Club and has served as District Governor, later being elected as Council Chairman for the Lions of Kansas the following year.
