Our Master Plumber Richard Hume founded Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with some tools and boxes of fittings from the back of his truck. Like any determined entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, passing out flyers to attract new customers and leads. Despite a difficult downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we grew our offerings by bringing on new staff, equipment, and resources to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system organization. What began as a solo operation is now a thriving company with over 50 employees. Though we still grow, Rick's original commitment remains the cornerstone of Pro-Tec: build a business centered on hard work and integrity and deliver the quality of work we would want in our own properties.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were brought up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they grew up until the early 2000s.

Brandon relocated to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he played golf and focused in finance. Meanwhile, Rick cultivated a increasing passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would evolve into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After finishing his degree, Brandon assisted in digging Rick's first residential project in 2009. He chose to partner with his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, managing the business side of the enterprise.
