Our lead plumber Richard Hume launched Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with some tools and kits of fittings from the back of his pickup truck. Like any determined entrepreneur, he devoted himself day and night, distributing flyers to find new customers and leads. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persisted; each year, we increased our capabilities by bringing on new employees, equipment, and tools to the company. Having consistently grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a comprehensive water system organization. What originated as a single-person operation is now a successful company with over 50 employees. Though we remain grow, Rick's original vision remains the cornerstone of Pro-Tec: create a business centered on effort and honesty and provide the quality of work we would expect in our own houses.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon transferred to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was involved in golf and studied in finance. Meanwhile, Rick cultivated a increasing passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and initiated what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon helped in excavating Rick's first residential job in 2009. He chose to join his brother full-time as the company's vice president in 2011, managing the business side of the company.
