Our Master Plumber Richard Hume founded Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and containers of fittings from the back of his truck. Like any determined entrepreneur, he devoted himself day and night, passing out flyers to attract new customers and leads. Despite a tough downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persevered; each year, we increased our capabilities by bringing on new staff, vehicles, and resources to the company. Having reliably grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has evolved -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a full-service water system organization. What began as a solo operation is now a thriving company with over 50 team members. Though we still grow, Rick's original commitment remains the foundation of Pro-Tec: develop a business centered on effort and integrity and provide the quality of work we would desire in our own properties.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were brought up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they lived until the early 2000s.

Brandon moved to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he competed in golf and majored in finance. Meanwhile, Rick nurtured a deepening passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After completing his degree, Brandon supported in excavating Rick's first residential project in 2009. He chose to partner with his brother for good as the company's vice president in 2011, managing the operations side of the operation.
