Our head plumber Richard Hume started Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and kits of fittings from the back of his vehicle. Like any determined entrepreneur, he committed himself day and night, distributing flyers to find new customers and connections. Despite a tough downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we increased our services by adding new employees, trucks, and assets to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has evolved -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system organization. What started as a solo operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 staff. Though we continue to grow, Rick's original promise remains the cornerstone of Pro-Tec: build a business centered on dedication and honesty and provide the quality of work we would desire in our own homes.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon transferred to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he played golf and focused in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a deepening passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and started what would become Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon helped in hand-digging Rick's first residential job in 2009. He chose to join his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, running the operations side of the enterprise.
