Our Master Plumber Richard Hume started Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and boxes of fittings from the back of his truck. Like any successful entrepreneur, he devoted himself day and night, distributing flyers to attract new customers and leads. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persisted; each year, we grew our services by hiring new team members, vehicles, and assets to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has evolved -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a full-service water system organization. What started as a single-person operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 team members. Though we continue to grow, Rick's original vision remains the basis of Pro-Tec: create a business centered on dedication and integrity and provide the quality of work we would expect in our own properties.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were brought up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon moved to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he played golf and studied in finance. Meanwhile, Rick nurtured a growing passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and started what would become Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon helped in hand-digging Rick's first residential project in 2009. He decided to join his brother for good as the company's vice president in 2011, managing the business side of the company.
