Our Master Plumber Richard Hume launched Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with just tools and containers of fittings from the back of his truck. Like any successful entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, handing out flyers to attract new customers and leads. Despite a difficult downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persevered; each year, we increased our capabilities by bringing on new team members, equipment, and tools to the company. Having reliably grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has transformed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system company. What began as a one-man operation is now a successful company with over 50 team members. Though we still grow, Rick's original vision remains the foundation of Pro-Tec: create a business centered on hard work and transparency and provide the quality of work we would expect in our own homes.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were brought up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they grew up until the early 2000s.

Brandon moved to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was involved in golf and majored in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a growing passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After completing his degree, Brandon supported in hand-digging Rick's first residential job in 2009. He chose to team up with his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, running the business side of the company.
