Our head plumber Richard Hume founded Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and containers of fittings from the back of his vehicle. Like any successful entrepreneur, he devoted himself day and night, handing out flyers to find new customers and leads. Despite a difficult downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we increased our offerings by adding new team members, equipment, and assets to the company. Having reliably grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system company. What originated as a one-man operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 staff. Though we remain grow, Rick's original vision remains the cornerstone of Pro-Tec: develop a business centered on effort and honesty and provide the quality of work we would desire in our own houses.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were brought up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon moved to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was involved in golf and focused in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a growing passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and initiated what would evolve into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After completing his degree, Brandon assisted in hand-digging Rick's first residential home in 2009. He opted to partner with his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the office side of the company.
