Our Master Plumber Richard Hume founded Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with some tools and kits of fittings from the back of his pickup truck. Like any great entrepreneur, he committed himself day and night, passing out flyers to attract new customers and contacts. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persisted; each year, we grew our services by hiring new team members, vehicles, and assets to the company. Having reliably grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a full-service water system organization. What originated as a single-person operation is now a thriving company with over 50 employees. Though we continue to grow, Rick's original vision remains the basis of Pro-Tec: develop a business centered on hard work and transparency and ensure the quality of work we would want in our own properties.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon relocated to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he competed in golf and focused in finance. Meanwhile, Rick nurtured a increasing passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and initiated what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon assisted in excavating Rick's first residential home in 2009. He opted to partner with his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, managing the operations side of the company.
