Our head plumber Richard Hume started Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and kits of fittings from the back of his vehicle. Like any great entrepreneur, he committed himself day and night, handing out flyers to gain new customers and leads. Despite a difficult downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persevered; each year, we expanded our offerings by adding new staff, vehicles, and resources to the company. Having consistently grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a comprehensive water system company. What began as a single-person operation is now a successful company with over 50 employees. Though we remain grow, Rick's original commitment remains the basis of Pro-Tec: build a business centered on dedication and honesty and ensure the quality of work we would expect in our own properties.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were brought up in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they lived until the early 2000s.

Brandon relocated to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was involved in golf and majored in finance. Meanwhile, Rick cultivated a growing passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would evolve into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon supported in excavating Rick's first residential project in 2009. He decided to join his brother for good as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the operations side of the operation.
