Our lead plumber Richard Hume started Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and kits of fittings from the back of his vehicle. Like any successful entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, handing out flyers to gain new customers and leads. Despite a difficult downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persisted; each year, we grew our offerings by bringing on new employees, vehicles, and assets to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a comprehensive water system provider. What originated as a solo operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 team members. Though we continue to grow, Rick's original commitment remains the basis of Pro-Tec: create a business centered on effort and honesty and provide the quality of work we would want in our own homes.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they lived until the early 2000s.

Brandon relocated to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was involved in golf and studied in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a increasing passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would become Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After finishing his degree, Brandon assisted in excavating Rick's first residential home in 2009. He chose to join his brother permanently as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the business side of the company.
