Mr. Stokes founded Stokes Mechanical in 1963 due to the lack of skilled plumbing contractors in the area. Located in the heart of Lake Worth, our headquarters and workshop is still active led by the direction of Susan, his daughter.

Stokes developed influence throughout South Florida, gaining recognition as a prominent name for building multi-family housing, healthcare and research facilities, government facilities, and private commercial complexes. While we grew in the construction industry, the necessity of a service branch became apparent. Starting with repairs for the properties we built, our plumbing and air conditioning service department developed exponentially. Following the addition of the General Plumbing branch in June 2013, we are now a stronger presence in the South Florida area.

In the year 1995, Mr. Stokes transferred control to his daughter, Susan, who had been with the company since the early 80s. Initially working as the receptionist, she progressed through the ranks to the financial manager, chief estimator, Vice President, and currently serves as President and CEO. She received a state license for air conditioning back in 1989 as well as her plumbing license in 1992, establishing herself as the first female mechanical contractor in Palm Beach. Susan garnered many accolades for her success as a female-owned business leader and having served on the State of Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board for five years from 1997 to 2002.
