Sonny Stokes founded our company in 1963 in response to a shortage of professional, quality plumbing companies in our community. Located in Lake Worth, our headquarters and workshop remains led by the guidance of Sonny's daughter, Susan.

Our company grew its presence across South Florida, becoming a leader in developing residential complexes, healthcare and research facilities, government facilities, as well as private commercial properties. As Stokes expanded in construction, we recognized the demand for a dedicated service division emerged. Initially beginning with repairs for the buildings it had constructed, Stokes Mechanical's HVAC and plumbing service division expanded significantly. In 1995, Mr. Stokes transferred control to his daughter, Susan, who had officially worked since the early 80s. Starting out as a receptionist, Susan progressed through the ranks to the bookkeeper, chief estimator, Vice President, and now is the President and CEO. Susan received a state license for air conditioning in 1989 as well as the plumbing license two years later, becoming the first female mechanical contractor in Palm Beach. She garnered numerous awards for her success as a leader of a woman-owned business while also serving actively as a member of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board from 1997 to 2002.
