Our company grew our footprint across South Florida, becoming a prominent name in the construction of multi-family housing, medical and research buildings, government and educational buildings, and private commercial complexes. As Stokes grew in the construction industry, we recognized the demand for a service branch was clear. Starting with repairs for the buildings it had constructed, Stokes Mechanical's plumbing and air conditioning service department developed significantly. In 1995, E.C. Stokes transferred control to his daughter Susan, who had officially worked since the early 80s. Starting out as a receptionist, she worked her way up to bookkeeper, lead estimator, Vice President, and today is the President and CEO. She received a state license for air conditioning in 1989 and a plumbing license two years later, becoming the only female mechanical contractor in the county. Susan garnered numerous awards for her achievements as a leader of a woman-owned business and having served on the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board between 1997 and 2002.
