Sonny Stokes started our company in 1963 due to the need for skilled plumbing contractors in our community. Located in Lake Worth, our headquarters and workshop remains under the leadership of Susan, his daughter.

Our company grew its presence throughout South Florida, gaining recognition as a leader in developing residential complexes, medical and research buildings, government and educational buildings, and private commercial complexes. As we expanded in the construction industry, we recognized the demand for a service department became apparent. Starting with the maintenance of the buildings it had constructed, our plumbing and air conditioning service department developed rapidly. Following the launch of our General Plumbing division as a division of Stokes, we are now a stronger presence in the South Florida area.

In the year 1995, Sonny handed over the business to his daughter Susan, who had been with the company since the early 80s. Initially working as the front desk staff, Susan advanced her career becoming the bookkeeper, chief estimator, Vice President, and today is the President and CEO. She received her air conditioning license back in 1989 and the plumbing license in 1992, establishing herself as the sole female mechanical contractor in the county. She earned numerous awards for her success as a leader of a woman-owned business while also having served as a member of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board between 1997 and 2002.
