Locally operated since 2008, Pro-Tec Plumbing has built a reputable presence as Southwest Florida's home and business plumbing and air-conditioning provider. Our head plumber Richard Hume launched Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and boxes of fittings from the back of his pickup truck. Like any great entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, distributing flyers to attract new customers and connections. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we increased our capabilities by adding new employees, trucks, and assets to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a full-service water system organization. What originated as a one-man operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 staff. Though we continue to grow, Rick's original vision remains the foundation of Pro-Tec: develop a business centered on dedication and integrity and ensure the quality of work we would expect in our own houses.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon transferred to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was involved in golf and studied in finance. Meanwhile, Rick nurtured a growing passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and started what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon assisted in excavating Rick's first residential home in 2009. He decided to team up with his brother full-time as the company's vice president in 2011, managing the operations side of the company.
