In 1961, Roy founded Parkey's in Xenia, Ohio, using a 1955 Cadillac to fill this gap and provide ""Cadillac"" service to his customers. Roy and his wife, Sarah Ellen ""Judy"" Parkey, raised four children: one daughter and three sons. The oldest son, Monty, was joined by Tim, Mark, and Robin, each approximately two years apart. In those initial days, ""Judy,"" Tim's mother, took care of phone inquiries while nurturing their four children. Tim Parkey, the second oldest son, began working weekends and summers at the age of 13.

By the time he turned 15, Tim decided this was the path he wished to follow. He chose to attend Green vocational school for HVAC in his junior year. He also attended R.S.E.S (Refrigeration Service Engineering School) in the evenings during this period. At GVS, his instructor assigned him to an advanced job placement in the second quarter of eleventh grade as a test, and the outcomes were impressive. Finding meaningful work at such a young age was a significant blessing for him. Tim, being hardworking and mechanically inclined, discovered it was a natural fit. With a passion for helping others, he knew he was in the right place at the right time. Following a back injury, Roy Parkey opted to move to Florida, which enabled Tim to assume ownership of the company at only 18. Tim upheld a legacy that has lasted 37 years, starting on February 12, 1973.
