In 1955, Roy D. Parkey began his journey in refrigeration but was frustrated by poor customer service and craftsmanship. In Xenia, Ohio, in 1961, Roy started Parkey's from the back of a 1955 Cadillac to meet this need, delivering ""Cadillac"" service. Roy and his spouse, Sarah Ellen ""Judy"" Parkey, were fortunate to have four children: three boys and one girl. Monty was the eldest, with Tim, Mark, and Robin following, all roughly two years apart. In the early days, ""Judy,"" Tim's mother, managed the phones while caring for their four children. At just 13, Tim Parkey, the second eldest son, started working weekends and during the summer.

At 15, Tim recognized that this was the direction he wanted for his career. He enrolled in Green vocational school for HVAC during his eleventh-grade year. Simultaneously, he attended R.S.E.S (Refrigeration Service Engineering School) at night. His instructor at GVS placed him in an advanced job placement program during the second quarter of his eleventh grade as a trial, and the results were remarkable. Finding meaningful work at such a young age was a significant blessing for him. Tim, a diligent worker with a knack for mechanics, found it to be a perfect fit. Driven by a passion for service, he felt he was exactly where he needed to be. Following a back injury, Roy Parkey opted to move to Florida, which enabled Tim to assume ownership of the company at only 18. On February 12, 1973, Tim continued a legacy that has thrived for 37 years.
