In 1955, Roy D. Parkey began his journey in refrigeration but was frustrated by poor customer service and craftsmanship. In 1961, in Xenia, Ohio, Roy launched Parkey's from the back of a 1955 Cadillac to address this gap, offering his clients ""Cadillac"" service. Roy and his wife, Sarah Ellen ""Judy"" Parkey, raised four children: one daughter and three sons. The oldest son, Monty, was joined by Tim, Mark, and Robin, each approximately two years apart. In the early days, ""Judy,"" Tim's mother, managed the phones while caring for their four children. Tim Parkey, the second son, began his work journey at 13, taking on weekend and summer jobs.

At 15, Tim recognized that this was the direction he wanted for his career. He enrolled in Green vocational school for HVAC during his eleventh-grade year. At the same time, he took night classes at R.S.E.S (Refrigeration Service Engineering School). His teacher at GVS put him in an early advanced job placement during the second quarter of his junior year as an experiment, yielding outstanding results. Discovering valuable work at a young age proved to be a tremendous blessing for him. With his strong work ethic and mechanical skills, Tim found it to be an ideal match. With a passion for helping others, he knew he was in the right place at the right time. Due to a back injury, Roy Parkey decided to relocate to Florida, allowing Tim to take over the company at just 18 years old. On February 12, 1973, Tim continued a legacy that has thrived for 37 years.
