Roy D. Parkey entered the refrigeration industry in 1955 but was disheartened by the lack of customer service and quality workmanship. In 1961, in Xenia, Ohio, Roy launched Parkey's from the back of a 1955 Cadillac to address this gap, offering his clients ""Cadillac"" service. Roy and his wife, Sarah Ellen ""Judy"" Parkey, were blessed with four children: three sons and one daughter. The oldest son, Monty, was joined by Tim, Mark, and Robin, each approximately two years apart. During those early years, ""Judy,"" Tim's mother, handled phone calls while raising their four kids. Tim Parkey, the second oldest son, began working weekends and summers at the age of 13.

At 15, Tim recognized that this was the direction he wanted for his career. He enrolled in Green vocational school for HVAC during his eleventh-grade year. Simultaneously, he attended R.S.E.S (Refrigeration Service Engineering School) at night. At GVS, his instructor assigned him to an advanced job placement in the second quarter of eleventh grade as a test, and the outcomes were impressive. Discovering valuable work at a young age proved to be a tremendous blessing for him. Tim, a diligent worker with a knack for mechanics, found it to be a perfect fit. His desire to serve others confirmed he was in the right place at the right moment. Due to a back injury, Roy Parkey decided to relocate to Florida, allowing Tim to take over the company at just 18 years old. On February 12, 1973, Tim carried on a legacy that has endured for 37 years.
