Roy D. Parkey started in refrigeration in 1955, but he was disappointed by the absence of quality service and workmanship. In Xenia, Ohio, in 1961, Roy started Parkey's from the back of a 1955 Cadillac to meet this need, delivering ""Cadillac"" service. Roy and his wife, Sarah Ellen ""Judy"" Parkey, raised four children: one daughter and three sons. Monty was the eldest, with Tim, Mark, and Robin following, all roughly two years apart. In those initial days, ""Judy,"" Tim's mother, took care of phone inquiries while nurturing their four children. Tim Parkey, the second son, began his work journey at 13, taking on weekend and summer jobs.

By age 15, Tim realized this was the career path he wanted to pursue. Tim signed up for HVAC classes at Green vocational school in his eleventh grade. Simultaneously, he attended R.S.E.S (Refrigeration Service Engineering School) at night. At GVS, his instructor assigned him to an advanced job placement in the second quarter of eleventh grade as a test, and the outcomes were impressive. Finding meaningful work at such a young age was a significant blessing for him. Tim, a diligent worker with a knack for mechanics, found it to be a perfect fit. With a passion for helping others, he knew he was in the right place at the right time. Following a back injury, Roy Parkey opted to move to Florida, which enabled Tim to assume ownership of the company at only 18. On February 12, 1973, Tim continued a legacy that has thrived for 37 years.
