I began my journeyman training with a local plumbing company starting in the mid-1980s, and I worked there for eight years. Following that, I went back to working in the shipyards for a time, but in 1991 when I encountered my best friend and my soulmate, and we settled in Longmont, Colorado. I took a job with the Boulder County Sheriff's Department and the local government of Longmont before starting Drain Away. And the rest is just history.

Having been friends since high school, they found common ground in their careers when they both felt the call to entrepreneurship. They joined their skills, leveraging Dustin's plumbing experience and Mike's business acumen. Dusty achieved his master plumber credentials, and Mike took on the role of an apprentice. They formed a limited liability company and the story continued.
