The owner and operator, Denis O'Halloran, hails from He follows in the footsteps of his father, Frank O'Halloran. The business began in 1964 as Hayes Valley Hardware, Heating and Plumbing in San Francisco. The business moved to the Southwood Shopping Center at Orange and El Camino in South San Francisco in 1966, leaving Filmore behind.
During his time at Arch Bishop Riordan High School, Denis took on a job after school and on weekends at Southwood Hardware, Plumbing and Heating, assisting his father and his partner, Bill Sylvia. In 1981, after graduating from Riordan High School, Denis took over a partnership in the company from Bill Sylvia. He then dedicated himself to full-time work in the company. Denis holds the title of Certified Plumbing Inspector and has taught apprenticeship courses at San Mateo Adult School in collaboration with the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association. Denis is also a certified backflow tester with the American Water Works Association. He has a C-36 Plumbing License and a C-20 Heating/HVAC License issued by the State of California.
