Since March 2008, when we started Santa Cruz Green Builders, we have been dedicated to creating homes and workspaces that are beneficial for the planet and its residents.

Spencer Keenan holds a degree in Industrial Design from San Francisco State University. The program provided him with the skills to transform concepts into completed projects and to address issues that come up along the way. These skills, along with the beauty of California's central coast and his desire to create, inspired him to enter the field of green building in Santa Cruz.

Co-owner Taylor, raised on Kauai, has always had a strong interest in construction. At the age of 8, he built his first structure, a tree fort made from reclaimed wood, featuring a drawbridge, bedroom, screened porch, and garage. Following his graduation from UCSC with a politics degree, Taylor pursued his building interests by working for a general contractor in Santa Cruz. His passion for green building grew stronger and more motivating. Currently, as a Certified Green Building Professional, Taylor applies his expertise to every project we undertake.
