One of the downspouts from my gutters was clogged, and since it connects to a very long underground pipe, I called Zoom Drain for help in getting it unplugged. Andrew came exactly when scheduled, explained the different possibilities and the charges for each, and suggested starting with the simplest and least expensive option--seeing if the clog was limited to the downspout. It was. He cleaned out the downspout, tested to be sure the drain line was running freely, and put everything back together securely. I couldn't have asked for better service, and the price was reasonable.

We requested Zoom Drain repair a non-working swimming pool skimmer system. They sent Jordan Courter to assess the problem. The problem turned out to be complex, and required extensive work. Jordan was able to track down the problems and undertake the job from start to finish. He is rock star. We had occasion to request he return for some minor adjustments. There was no further charge. He has been on top of the job completely, came back when a small creature was swept into the skimmer system, cheerfully removed it for us, and was on his way to some other fortunate client's drain problem. If he is representative of Zoom Drain's service it is a solid 10. His conscientious service was definitely worth the expected price we paid to once again have a working skimmer system.

After charging $380 just to spend 10 minutes in the crawl space and failing to fix the original issue that he stepped in at first place (fixing one puddled water) he came up with a plan that would cost us a fortune but we would see the result in 5 years. I actually paid for nothing. I don't think they are honest. be careful.

I strongly would urge customers to look elsewhere than Zoom. They mishandled our drain issue and were difficult to work with to find a solution.

1. They initially sent out a less than experienced technician who charged us $2000 for a service that didn't need to be done
2. After follow up, they offered to check a map of the drainage system which revealed a major issue that rendered what they did previously as useless. This map was always available and is public record - which I was not aware of at the time.
3. No apology or acknowledgment of a mistake or unnecessary work.
4. When asked to consider taking money off of new job given the previous payment on a unnecessary job, they were reluctant to offer a fair reduced rate.

After all this, we went with Bob Oates and were very pleased with their pricing, honesty, professionalism and clarity of communication.

We have hired Zoom Drain (via Gene Johnson Plumbing) twice to work on two separate clog issues and each time they have checked all the boxes: easy to schedule; on time; text announcement of arrival including technician photo for safety; careful in the care of our home; conscientious of our privacy; a clear initial diagnosis of our problem and a thorough explanation of solutions, including price points and guarantees, without any pressure to buy more than we needed.

Jordan was especially helpful, professional and friendly, taking the time to answer all my questions with patience and care. I would sure these folks again in a heartbeat (although I hope I won't have to!)

I was experiencing a MASSIVE storm drain problem that was flooding my backyard. And though the issue was bigger than they could handle (it involved needing city permission and access to mains. Not their fault at all), they were very prompt (got to me much earlier than initially quoted), professional and knowledgeable. Jordan C was my technician and he not only did everything he could, but stayed with me until another professional was here so he could help brainstorm my best next step. My crisis eventually got solved because of his advice. His honesty, integrity and knowledgeable care was greatly appreciated when others might easily leave you stranded. I would've felt like my home was in good hands with any project I needed done. Highly recommend these guys!

The technician came out on Oct 29 and advised that cleaning the underground drain would be near impossible and a new drain should be installed. He took photos of the surroundings and said an estimate would be emailed in 2-3 business days. I called on Nov 4 to inquire about the estimate and was told it would be done shortly. It's Nov 7 and i still don't have their estimate. I contacted another Drain Doctors and they provided an estimate within 20 minutes after inspection and will be here in 3 days to do the work. Update -- I've modified my original 1 star review to 2 stars. I finally got my estimate on Nov 10 and it seemed reasonable, but the work had already been completed by the other company.

Technician was on time and friendly (although they cancelled first appointment after window closed). Tech tried hard to upsell me and I couldn't get a clear answer on what sewer service I really needed. Also, they refused to provide price quote over the phone even though when tech arrived prices were all in his pre-printed book, so they could've given me a quote in advance.

Finally, tech told us only after he finished that we shouldn't use water for several hours. By then, my son was already in the shower. When we followed up with our concerns we got blown off. Literally several hundred dollars down the drain.

Jordan helped retrieve the connection end of a fish tank siphon that the homeowner (me) had unfortunately dropped down the washing machine standpipe while pouring vinegar into the standpipe. It had traveled far past the standpipe and into the galvanized pipe in the floor. Jordan had to cut the PVC drain pipe above the galvanized and pull it back in order to fish out the piece of plastic. It was extremely challenging, and Jordan was kind enough to let me watch and share ideas on how to solve the problem. Jordan's patience and expertise through all of the work was impressive,. It was a heroic effort. n After, clearing the line, he did a masterful job repairing the pipes and cleaning up.

This is my second experience working with Zoom Drain this summer. Earlier in the summer they removed roots from our sewer line. They have been very professional and affordable. I highly recommend Zoom Drain.
