We have hired Zoom Drain (via Gene Johnson Plumbing) twice to work on two separate clog issues and each time they have checked all the boxes: easy to schedule; on time; text announcement of arrival including technician photo for safety; careful in the care of our home; conscientious of our privacy; a clear initial diagnosis of our problem and a thorough explanation of solutions, including price points and guarantees, without any pressure to buy more than we needed.
Jordan was especially helpful, professional and friendly, taking the time to answer all my questions with patience and care. I would sure these folks again in a heartbeat (although I hope I won't have to!)
Five + stars for Jordan and Andrew for spending two visits to fix a clogged drain in my kitchen sinks!! Even crawling under the house!
They were awesome, professional, friendly, courteous, very knowledgeable, and so helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend Zoom to anyone!
Thank you!! Great job guys!
Reid K.I was experiencing a MASSIVE storm drain problem that was flooding my backyard. And though the issue was bigger than they could handle (it involved needing city permission and access to mains. Not their fault at all), they were very prompt (got to me much earlier than initially quoted), professional and knowledgeable. Jordan C was my technician and he not only did everything he could, but stayed with me until another professional was here so he could help brainstorm my best next step. My crisis eventually got solved because of his advice. His honesty, integrity and knowledgeable care was greatly appreciated when others might easily leave you stranded. I would've felt like my home was in good hands with any project I needed done. Highly recommend these guys!
The technician came out on Oct 29 and advised that cleaning the underground drain would be near impossible and a new drain should be installed. He took photos of the surroundings and said an estimate would be emailed in 2-3 business days. I called on Nov 4 to inquire about the estimate and was told it would be done shortly. It's Nov 7 and i still don't have their estimate. I contacted another Drain Doctors and they provided an estimate within 20 minutes after inspection and will be here in 3 days to do the work. Update -- I've modified my original 1 star review to 2 stars. I finally got my estimate on Nov 10 and it seemed reasonable, but the work had already been completed by the other company.
Technician was on time and friendly (although they cancelled first appointment after window closed). Tech tried hard to upsell me and I couldn't get a clear answer on what sewer service I really needed. Also, they refused to provide price quote over the phone even though when tech arrived prices were all in his pre-printed book, so they could've given me a quote in advance.
Finally, tech told us only after he finished that we shouldn't use water for several hours. By then, my son was already in the shower. When we followed up with our concerns we got blown off. Literally several hundred dollars down the drain.
Jordan helped retrieve the connection end of a fish tank siphon that the homeowner (me) had unfortunately dropped down the washing machine standpipe while pouring vinegar into the standpipe. It had traveled far past the standpipe and into the galvanized pipe in the floor. Jordan had to cut the PVC drain pipe above the galvanized and pull it back in order to fish out the piece of plastic. It was extremely challenging, and Jordan was kind enough to let me watch and share ideas on how to solve the problem. Jordan's patience and expertise through all of the work was impressive,. It was a heroic effort. n After, clearing the line, he did a masterful job repairing the pipes and cleaning up.
This is my second experience working with Zoom Drain this summer. Earlier in the summer they removed roots from our sewer line. They have been very professional and affordable. I highly recommend Zoom Drain.
Had a guy out recently for water running up from the pipe in the ground connected to the downspout. He snaked from that corner of the house to the front corner and made it sound like that was as far as he could go. Then he told us the engineer recommended capping the pipe and digging a hole in the yard for a rock pile to drain the water under the middle of our yard for several thousand more dollars than we already paid him. It was ground water, and capping the pipe they wanted to cap would've flooded the yard even worse. Had a guy out a week later for a second opinion. He snaked from the front of the house toward the sewer and had it fixed in ten minutes for less than I paid for the first visit from Zoom. I'd be cautious using this company.
Late on a Friday night our upstairs bathroom suddenly flooded the downstairs bathroom and surrounding area. I was able to schedule a plumber to come on Saturday which was such a relief. Jordan arrived, and from the moment I met him I knew we were in good hands. Jordan explained what he determined was the issue and provided different options for addressing it. His calm and competent manner eased my anxiety, and when he was finished he reviewed everything that he had done. He was professional and knowledgeable regarding the work, while still being kind and considerate. I felt the cost of the job was fair and appropriate for all that Jordan did. I also appreciated how easy it was to schedule the appointment. While no one wants to experience a plumbing issue, my home is 57 years old so it's almost inevitable that it will happen. I've got Jordan's business card and Zoom Drain will be my go-to plumber should I ever need help in the future.
This is as much a review for zoom drain as it is for their particular tech, Jordon.
Jordon was a gem!
At 9 pm at night we had a sewer back up from our floor drain into our finished basement, and it had ALREADY been a heckuva week (dog died, husband emergency gallbladder surgery, another family member with snapped Achilles' tendon. I kid you not - this all happened in the space of 3 days. And THEN the sewer back up.)
Jordon was the professional and calming presence I needed at that moment to let me know: ""this will get taken care of and all will be right with the world."" And it was and is. Jordon helped me clean up that night, and was back the next morning for a jet flush to get the roots out of the pipes. And all is well. (Tho I still miss my dog. Thanks Jordon!
I just sent this to the Zoom Drain website:
Hello, I just want to compliment one of your plumbers, Trent, for doing a very good job today. When 2 previous visits by a different plumber didn't fix the rattling noise in a sump pump, Trent immediately went to work. He opened the well cover, took out the sump pump, and vacuumed years of sand, gravel, glass particles, and other matter. He then put everything back, and left the basement in spotless condition. All within an hour! It wasn't an easy job, I could tell by the sweat on Trent's forehead. Please forward this message of thanks to him, and I hope he stays with Zoom Drain for a long time. I will definitely recommend your company to my friends and family.
