I started my journey with Woodward Heating in 2005, and in 2009, I assumed daily management from my father, Doug, who founded the company. After he passed away in 2016, I assumed ownership in 2017. Mom paid over $625 for Woodward to get her furnace system working at the start of winter 2 years ago. They kept telling her they were ordering more parts cause it still wasn't working. 7 weeks after they started playing her and she was still living in a cold house. I called Salem Heating and Sheet Metal. They came out the same day & for the cost of a service call ($125), the heater was reset and house was warm again.
Woodward tried this on our new neighbors last year also. Kept telling them they needed to replace the furnace when all they needed was a new thermostat. Heating company in Stayton just had to install the thermostat correctly for the heating system to work.
Unless you want to spend a lot of money on a new heating/cooling system, stay away from this company. They used to have a great reputation when the father was running the company, now they are just out to scam anyone they think they can.
Actually Scott, I tried to speak with the manager the day that the fourth visit was scheduled and I was called a liar by the gal on the phone, several times.
Apparently, not only is the customer supposed to call back and confirm that an appointment has been made, but if the scheduler forgets to mark down that the client has called to confirm said appointment, the appointment is canceled and scheduler has the right to call the client a liar and make them wait until 2 weeks later for another appointment while an 86 year old lady is freezing in a cold house for another 2 weeks. I did everything I could to jog the gals memory that we had had a conversation 2 weeks earlier to confirm the appointment.
By this time I was taking notes and writing everything down that I was being told (including that it was the same person I had spoken with previously) because we were already 7 weeks into dealing with no heat and broken promises.
So forgive me if I do not try to deal with your company privately any longer as the manager refused to speak with me that day because I told the gal that she was incompetent, after being called a liar several times. Also charging my mother $625 + and still no working furnace that only needed to be reset by a competent technician from a different company was a huge rip off. By the way, the heater system in that house has not needed any additional work done to it since then, making me doubt that any parts needed replacing to begin with.

First of all, company tech said review on Google or Facebook, but bypass Yelp. I can't do them on aforementioned because they specify parameters I can't do. Anyway...you'll find glowing reviews on Google, and I suspect company can remove negative reviews. Read all available.
Getting started with what I needed is as usual with any hardware that's being repaired or replaced. I got an appt by phone and then by email. By phone, I was told to expect tech between 1pm and 4pm. The email appt said 1pm to 3pm. When 4pm rolled around, I got concerned and called. I didn't exactly hear when he was coming but that he was. The tech rolled into my driveway close to 5pm.
The tech was personable and knowledgeable, explaining that a repair was almost as expensive as a replacement of the A/C. He placed the order, and I was told installation would be following Monday. He took an almost 50% deposit.
I'm guessing office lady didn't like my concern for the tardiness because the owner sent me an email asking. Yahoo screwed up my response so I'm thinking he didn't get it.
Techs arrived on Monday and installed the new system, replacing the insulation and necessary sheet metal. They did a good job IMHO.
On Friday, I get an invoice through email from a family member, and the invoice was for the WHOLE charge. My deposit was NOT on the credits. I called, and I might have sounded upset. Well, I got an eye full back about how mean I was and argumentative. Really? $2000 is not a small sum to overlook. I did get a new invoice with deposit shown.
I think there are some short comings in the office, and if you think you have a problem, it's YOU, not their oversights or customer service. I truly suspect the lady answering the phone is burned out and takes everything personally. I picked up on that in other reviews, so that's what I came away with, too. Would sending a box of chocolates to the office sweeten the disposition? Maybe.
So, you can use them, but be aware there may be some flashback if you're unhappy about something. Again, read as many reviews as you can find and take the ones on their web page with a grain of salt. It's likely they have been edited accordingly. Nothing negative there.

If I could give negative stars I would!! Use another company! Shady shady rude people! Tried to pressure us by bullying, and lied about multiple things. Now stuck with very expensive system that looks terrible, and is not very energy efficient as promised! So many things. Do yourself a favor and find another heating and cooling company!!

fantastic service and I really liked the way the technician did a detailed survey of our home to build a heating and cooling system for us that was appropriate and not undersized. the installers were great and overall I'd say they are one of the best contractors we've hired to do work in our property. Got my furnace checked just before the February snowstorm hit. Tech was on time, careful to not track junk around, and got my furnace working in short order. Made recommendations to add a couple things that would make my furnace a bit safer and give better long-term use. Will have to have someone back in the summer to check the AC. Next year, I will schedule one visit at a time that both furnace and AC maintenance can be done at one time.
