Woods plumbing replaced a water heater several years back why my house was a rental. I moved back in to my house in 2016 and found that they had disconnected a water heated fan unit. I called to ask why it was disconnected. It took 3 days to return my call. The owner did not take responsibility for it, in fact after I told him it was a pretty easy job to fix, his response was ""if it's so easy why don't you fix it"" Wow I disagreed with his answers, we got disconnected so I called right back and said sorry guess we were disconnected, he said ""no I hung up on you because I'm tired of hearing your shit"" I was shocked and said to him that I couldn't believe an owner of a business would say such things. His response was basically I was a horrible customer and hung up again. I have been in management for over 20 yrs and I have never heard such a response come from an owner of a business You decide if this is a company you want to hire.
I had a 5 year old water heater that needed a new ""mother board"". I had to make the 2 phone calls to determine the closest place that had the part and how the warrantied part would be paid for. Plumbers forgot to turn water off and blasted water all over cars, gym equipment and pictures on the wall. Husband spent an hour cleaning up mess. Plumbers took at least an hour
trying to wire new part to get it to work. I called the company to discuss issues and was told a manager would call me back. It has been 3 days and no call. I was charged $440 for
this part installation.
Wish there were more stars... A+ for promptness, professionalism, knowledge, and all around great job in replacing our 1980s toilet and for flushing our tank less water heater. To top it off Shawn let us know that we are untitled to a rebate. Win/win for everyone.
Michael M.Do not hire these people. Beware! I called woods plumbing since they were 1 min from my house to give me an estimate on a repair or replace a gas line. I asked if they could find a leak in a gas line since I had a leak and was evacuated from my home.( Gas was red tagged) A nice guy came out and couldn't find a leak but couldn't give me an estimate. Said his boss will come. I paid 212.50 for a pressure test. The guy and girl on the phone said there was a miscommunication. Since all I wanted and needed was an estimate which I conveyed in my first call to woods plumbing. About 2 days later, 2 guys came to the house for the estimate. First thing he says is I don't know what your expecting, pertaining to cost I guess. But of course I was nice, and talked about what happened with the first estimate. One guy agreed that there was a mix up. I said to one of the guys I called planning Dept and could get the permit for $52. He said they were $350. I still just wanted an estimate nothing personal. They gave an estimate of $2900+ for one short gas line to one stove. I recived 4 other estimates ranging from 550 to 800. The job was done for $550. Permit was $52 not $350. These folks ripped me off. Tried to gouge. At a time when our family of 5, with a newborn, was evacuated from my home with no gas service. They charged almost half of what the job really was supposed to cost, for a ridiculous estimate. Quality does not supercede customer service and reputation. Beware of this company.
Sheena S.I tried to install a new kitchen faucet with my father on a Sunday. Needlessly to say it was not an easy task. I had push/pull water shut offs under my sink which I did not like. I called Sunday after dad left at 8:30 pm and was able to schedule a time most convenient for me. They showed up on time, called me 15 minutes before they arrived. Since we hired professionals to connect the faucet I asked if they could replace the shut off valves to the sink, water line for the refrigerator and asked if they have a new disposal to replace my broken one. They had everything done in just over a hour, left no mess, had everything with them (including the disposal which I did not request until they arrived), where very kind and courtesy, extremely knowledgeable and professional. If I have any other plumbing needs I will call Wood's and I will refer them to anyone that needs a plumber. Remember you get what you pay for and with Wood's I got exceptional service for a bargain. Thank you Wes and Orlando!
We had a warranted AO water heater that failed. They were recommended as a Certified AO installers. They came out and said that they heater we had was too big so they needed to get a smaller one--for this privilege they charged us an extra $50.00 over and above a charge of $350 for having a replacement installed--yep a wonderfully outrageous price of $437.50.
Mind you this is a 6 year water heater--probably cost $450 if we bought it out right???
Right after they left we had no water pressure. They come back out and walk back and forth and back and forth scratching their heads. One guy says that gravel got in the line and we needed to get it cleaned out...He left then sent another guy out--same scenario. Then he says we need to install a $2000 conditioner. That this problem although happening right after the install is net-new. I felt I was being up-sold just like paying $50.00 extra for a smaller water heater.... I was born at night but not last night for pete's sake.
Update: Wood's Water heater install was faulty and now we have to break open the walls and have the pipes blown out (because they did not blow out at the installation! Run don't walk from these guys!
Jerome D.I must start by saying the receptionist is an absolute sweetheart ! HOWEVER!!! This is an extremely opportunistic company who tried to charge me $ 500 for a job that cost me no more than $200. I was told I needed to order a thermostatic cartridge and they told me it cost $185. I found it on amazon for $70. I understand businesses need to make money but integrity in price should also be a business cornerstone, something this plumbing company seriously lacks. You might fool the others, but ya didn't fool me !
I used them to replace a pipe in my front yard. For that job, they gave us a reasonable quote and we were overall happy with the work, although our drip system got a little damaged. We decided to use them again when there was some water damage in a kitchen cabinet, and they told us it was just a leaky kitchen sink and replaced a piece of the pipe. I wasn't buying that, as there seemed to be too much water damage for that to be the only problem. We asked someone else from Wood's to come out, and they told us that they'd already fixed the problem and that maybe water was getting in from outside and that we could look into weatherproofing our home. I felt in my gut that something else was wrong so I had another company come out, who did some tests and found water in my wall and ripped out the cabinet to reveal severe water damage, and a leaky pipe behind the wall. I know that it's not an exact science, but I am disappointed that I was charged twice for them to brush off a real issue. I would use them again for minor plumbing issues, but not for any large jobs.
I called Wood's Plumbing and told them exactly what I needed. One job was just routine maintenance and the other was to snake a line 55 feet. I was told about the $62.50 trip charge and that was fine but when the guy got here he wanted to charge me $350 just to snake a 55 ft sewer line. He didn't even give me a price for the other routine maintenance and I sent him on his way. I called DrainMasters and they came out the same day, did both jobs for $238 and were very professional and courteous. They had done work for me previously and were great but I forgot about them when I called Woods. I will never make that mistake again.
Really friendly service but expensive, as plumbing usually is. That said, we will not call them out again because they do not credit their $65 call-out fee toward the costs of service to be completed during the call out. I've never heard of any service provider not crediting the call-out charge, especially if you have them complete the work during the same visit. We were quoted $950 (for only a portion of the work we plan to do) + the $65 call-out fee and decided that since they will not credit the call-out fee, we would only fix the items needing immediate attention and will use someone else who *will* credit the call-out fee for the rest of the work. So, Wood's lost over $550 just so they could charge us $65. The plumber who repaired out faucets even called to ask his supervisor if he could apply the call-out fee toward the service but was told not to. So, if the supervisor doesn't mind the lost $550+ to Wood's Plumbing, then neither do I!! :)
Obviously, they have enough business to function this way, but I don't plan to support that style of business practice.
