This is the WORST company you could ever possibly ""work' with They no call no show, then come a couple days later and take notes of your issues. Then they promise to make an appointmen to fix your problem and then never ever ever ever follow through. When you voice your disgust on their Facebook page, they block you! So, steer clear of this ""company"" if you have any hope at all of getting your stuff fixed. Their rating with the BBB is in the toilet for a reason! P.S. i am forced to select at least one star.
I did get a call from them. First call in 8 days. They wanted to charge me $400+ besides the $100 they already charged. This with no appointment to even see my water heater or what would be needed. I had a plumber out to install a RO system and he said the flue was brand new and he has never heard of a plumber who charges additional fees without seeing the unit and they can charge upon installing.
I have been trying to get a paid for water heater in my rental for a month. I had to pay Whitney $450 additional to what AHS covered. To date, no installation. AHS claims the water heater is purchased and is awaiting pick up by Whitney. I have tried texting, emailing and calling Whitney. Today I held on for over 2 1/2 hours. finally gave in and left a message at 5:06. will continue to update here.
This company was assigned by AHS on 10/18/22 so both are to blame. No one showed up on the day they assigned to look at our gas furnace 10/24/22. No one answers or returns calls. Luckily the weather has been warm but it is fall in Michigan 10/25/22. Trying to get my 100.00$ back and go with a local company. May have to get rid of AHS as well
At first this company seemed like they were going to be able to get the job done. They sent somebody named Randy out. He got the hot water heater to restart but then didn't do any diagnostic testing as to why it went out in the first place. The water heater went out the next day. I called the company back and let them know what was happening they said that they got me scheduled. Fast forward a week later nobody shows. I called back and get the scheduling guy and he said that he made a mistake and now I will have somebody coming out the following week. This time they sent somebody named Tom out he did the diagnostic testing found the issue said that he put a temporary fix on the water heater and will put in a part order. His temporary fix didn't even last through the night. This is our third week going on without hot water. I tried to call the company to let them know that the temporary fix did not work. I left a voicemail nobody got back to me. I called back the next day and I get a hold of somebody at the service department she said that the manager was in a meeting and that she would call me back. Of course I never got a call back. So I tried to call again, left a voicemail, again nobody returned my call. I use American Home Shield so I got a hold of them and they have emailed the company several times to reach back out to me yet the Whitney holdings company never has returned any of my calls. Do not use this company if you want something fixed in a timely manner or if you want them to be responsive . I made sure that it was put on my account through the American Home Shield company to add a note to never use this company again. You would think that a company would not want to further upset an already upset customer, but they clearly don't care here.
Our toilet became clogged and I myself ran a plunger and snake through the pipes to unclog it a bit, but we still have issues. I contacted AHS to set up a service request and for some reason, they have these guys on contract to provide service. AHS won't change contractors even after a bad review. These guys show up, we tell them everything that had been done by us, and all they do is take pictures of the pipes and toilet. The guy flushed our toilet a couple times (because I had unclogged it a bit already), and said everything was fine, just because it flushed. Lo and behold, the next day, our toilets backed up again. Even though we said numerous times that something was wrong, nothing was done.
Another thing too, these guys will just schedule and reschedule when they will come out without even asking or consulting you if that day works for you. Me and my wife were rescheduled for a different day on the day they were supposed to come out and all they did was send us a text message saying that they were going to come two days later, without even consulting us on if we were available that day. I left a voicemail with them to discuss scheduling issues.....I don't foresee me getting a call back lol.
Please recruit someone else.
Amanda G.It took 3 appointments and over a month to try to determine the problem. There was 0 communication and NO help. They also had 2 technicians come out and say completely different diagnostic. Horrible company. Unresponsive, unreliable and inconsistent. We now have more issues with our electric because of their visit and inconsistency with their technicians. Don't try to call them because they are unresponsive. Go anywhere but to this company.
Waited for 3 weeks for a hot water tank. They suck and do not care if they get your job done. I would not recommend them to my dog. Stay away
Do NOT waste your time. AHS contractor that has been assigned for two jobs at my home. First one was for my pool heater in 10/20. It took three visits and eventually had to wait until 05/21 after the pool was reopened for the season, because the company sent 'plumbers'. Once the 'right crew' came to install my pool heater, it was done by FaceTime by the technician WHO TOLD ME HE WAS NOT A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN BUT HAD HIM ON THE PHONE TO GUIDE HIM. I wish I was joking.
Hope you're reading this, Jamie/WH. Since no fire/explosion has happened and the unit still works a year later, I let it slide. Then on 06/03, I had another 'plumber' at my home for a leak in an upstairs shower that caused it to rain through my celing/door frame downstairs. It's now 06/14. Is it fixed? HA! The tech was in and out of my home in less than 5 minutes on 06/03, took a picture and said that AHS wouldn't cover the drywall repair, the job should take 20-30 minutes, and I should hear from them Monday. It's been a couple Mondays now. called Jamie (again) today and was told (again) that a plumber came and diagnosed the problem, and I must pay $210 for needed modifications BEFORE they will schedule a repair! How is it that technician/plumber Mike never mentioned that in his 5 minutes being here, and when he said he had to get in the ceiling to accurately diagnose the problem? How's that even possible when nobody has cut a hole in the ceiling to see the problem? I guess he guessed...and this is a scam. Asked Jamie these questions and she wouldn't answer. Ain't no way in hell I'll ever pay this 'business' any money ever again.
AHS cuatomers, disagree with the WH diagnosis and you can get a 2nd opinion for free. Also, go to the MI Attorney General page and complete an online complaint form. This company is NOT doing business legally or ethically.
Kay W.I have no words .. other than the contractor being polite, he admitted he knew nothing about pool heaters but without looking he sent in his diagnosis to warranty company telling them he found nothing wrong. He did not touch the heater or even open the panel just took a photo of the model with his phone and left.
the heater will not respond to on/off switches, comes on on it's own and only way to switch off is by turning the filter off. since his visit and zero diagnosis, the heater had a flare up issue and melted all the wires and almost blew up ! thanks to his incompetence I now need a whole new heater costing the thousands.
Side note...... contractor thought he was coming to fix my filter. bear in mind he actually asked me what various parts of my plumbing were ( check valve, chlorinator ) he did not know what they were !! So glad i did not have a filter problem. Steer clear of this company
