Westchester Plumbing has been in business for over a decade. Our founder has over years of expertise.
My first job at the age of 14 in a plumbing supply house in Los Angeles. At that time, you were required to be familiar with your supplies and their connections; it was before the web and big box stores. If you didn't have a certification, you were unable to purchase from any wholesale house. I picked up skills from the contractors who visited and my coworkers. 34 years later, I'm operating my own plumbing service and love it. Myself and my staff are dedicated about our craft; we not only fix and assemble; we are proud of our work.

Professional, hard-working plumbers. I have nothing but good things to say about their work ethic and the quality of their work. They really will solve your plumbing problem without taking advantage of a bad situation. The drain to our tub in an older place by the beach broke completely off and Ray sent out a team that did a beautiful job in a difficult location. I hope I don't have future plumbing problems, but if I do, I would not hesitate to give Westchester Plumbing a cal.

We paid them to fix a small problem (a leaky tub faucet). The problem was fixed for a few days, but then the faucet started leaking again. Again they came out, the problem was fixed for a few days, then started leaking again. When we notified the owner, Raymond, he became frustrated, argumentative, and rude, as if I was causing him to lose money by insisting he do what I had already paid him to do.

We ultimately lost faith in Westchester Plumbing and paid another company to fix the problem, so we might as well have flushed our money down the toilet! As a resident of Westchester, I want my neighbors to be aware!

Business doesn't get any better than this. Ray, the owner, is prompt, personable and honest. I trust them to get the job done without having to worry about being treated unfairly. Absolutely excellent, thanks for coming in to save the day so many times. -Eli

Have used Westchester Plumbing several times and have no complaints. Raymond is fair and honest. I realize he is not in business to work for free but his prices always are fair and reasonable. I always recommend to friends and family without hesitation.

Update: 2/16/16: This morning I get a blocked call on my cell phone from Raymond, the owner of the company, asking why I wrote his company a bad review. I explain what happened, and why I am upset. He tells me I should have called him instead of writing a bad review. So I tell him we can discuss my issues over the phone since we're on the call now (I was also ready to possibly increase his rating). After a brief explanation of why I am upset about them arriving much later than scheduled without calling, not providing an estimate as promised, and then charging me a lot of money for a relatively simple task he yells, ""f--k you, you f--cking [couldn't hear the rest]."" Really? That's how these guys resolve complaints? Literally the WORST customer service I have ever seen. Changing it from 2 stars to 1.

Their work is pretty good, but the company has poor billing and business practices. I called them this morning shortly after they opened, and they scheduled a same-day time slot of between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. (which was great). The person I spoke with over the phone (I think he owns the company) told me they would come out free of charge and give me a free estimate on the work before starting the job (another big plus). The job was relatively simple: a leaking faucet handle on a 5-year-old sink. Here's a 3 minute YouTube video I just found on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CXTyVxizzA.

Now my first issue is even though they gave me an hour-long time slot of between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., they showed up 30 minutes after that slot. I understand people sometimes run late (especially in LA traffic), but no one called to tell me they would be late. That upset me because I also called a few times before our time slot to confirm since I had to leave my office early to meet them, but no one answered or returned my messages until 4:30 when they arrived. I took one star off for that.

Now, they lose another star because instead of providing me with a ""free estimate"" and without me asking them to do the job the guys simply started the doing work. It was a relatively simple job -- replace the valve stem. Since the guys just started doing the work without providing an estimate I assumed they would be done fairly quickly. I read on a couple of the 5-star reviews that if it's a small item sometimes they just fix it without charging the person. Regardless, I planned on at least tipping them for having come out because I think it's important to value the time of others.

An hour-and-a-half later the guys finish replacing the valve stem and get it working. There was nothing particularly special about the valve stem, and I am not sure why it took so long to replace. The only real complication was I had bent a small piece when trying to do it myself (which is when I decided to hire a professional plumbing company), but the employee straightened the bent piece within 5 minutes. What really upset me is only after he's done does he (or anyone) tell me it's $105/hour, and that they round to the next hour for partial hours. Based on that they wanted to charge me $210 for something that really should not have taken more than an hour to do. If you YouTube it the process literally takes between 3 to 10 minutes in real-time on those videos (here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2cBK5hw0b0).

I told the employee I appreciate his work but no one ever told me they charge $105/hour or that they round up to the next hour for partial hours. Now the 1.5 hours they wanted to bill me at the end also included the time they were supposed to spend analyzing the problem so they could give me a ""free estimate"" (which, again, they never provided). They ultimately decreased the price from $210 to $165 based on my protests and the fact that another licensed plumber told me he would charge me $126 if he had to replace the whole sink (if he couldn't fix that piece I had bent). That plumber also told me it would be far less than $126 if he could fix the bent part since it would then be a lot less work than replacing the whole sink. Ultimately, I ended up paying Westchester Plumbers the ""discounted"" rate of $165 because I believe in paying people for the work they do, and they had already done the work. But not only is that amount far more than what another licensed plumber said he would charge me, but it still averages $110/hour for the time they were here. I also paid them for the time they spent analyzing the problem for the ""free estimate"" they said they would provide. The workers were nice, but their business practices are deceptive. I don't think I would use them again after this experience.

So pleased with the job that Alberto and Richard did for us. We were in a bind and needed work done ASAP! Sure enough, these guys came out and replaced the water shut-off to our house, the fridge ice-maker connection, and our washing machine's hot-water spigot!

Have them on my speed dial from now on!

Tony and Freddy came on time as promised on a Saturday morning. I purchased a 40 gallon water heater from them, and had it installed. They did a great job in removing and installing the new water heater with new copper flex pipe on top. A very clean and thorough installation, I am very satisfied with the service that I received.

Friendly, trustworthy, and reasonably priced! They showed up to quote a price on a bunch of different projects and while they were here they fixed a couple of things without charging me (e.g. a toilet that was not filling properly), told me a simple method for cleaning out the sink drains so that I wouldn't have to pay them to do it, and made other recommendations that will save our landlord and me time and money. Highly recommended!
