We had our water heater installed and overall i'm satisfied with their work. Mr Marty, the owner was very honest and out front. He explained me about the types of water and what suit us best based on our budget. He also gave me a very good estimate compared to other plumbers who quoted a bit higher. i really like the honesty in him. The reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the plumber the sent us to replace the water heater, did not even bother to explain us about the settings or how to operate it. We are first time home owners and we basically have no knowledge about these things. When i asked the plumber few questions, he did not answer me properly. that was a bit disappointing. i think his name was Isaias Peni.Few days later we had some problem on how to ignite the heater because the water was not getting heated. so we called water quality plumbing and they sent another plumber whom was so helpful and explained us very well about how to operate the heater and also told us some tips on how maintain the life of the heater by draining the water every 4-5 months. The tips he gave us will be very useful for future.
Overall i am really satisfied with Water Quality Plumbing and i highly recommend them. Just make sure they send you a good plumber to do the job.

I called to ask for a garbage disposal installation. Mary answered and explained that when you added their travel charge (apparently Fremont is outside their usual service area) it would cost me more to use their company than if I got a local Fremont based firms name off of Yelp. Talk about honest and helpful! Not to mention plain old NICE!i

I will not recommend Water Quality. I had unpleasant experience from the plumber - all the way to the office personnel. The connections leaked, my water meter box broken, and got little help from the office. They don't have time to discuss anything with me; particularly, when it is about the price!

My main water pipe was broken a couple days ago - in the morning. I called water quality. I had to call them second time in the afternoon asking them to send somebody to take a look, estimate, and do something to help me get the water to the house while waiting for the re-piping work to be done. The office sent a plumber in the late afternoon.

To help me getting the water into the house temporarily, he used a host to connect water meter to the valve in front of the house. In the process of connecting a host to the water meter, without any thought, he cut off the old main pipe from the water meter. Then, he connected a new valve to the meter and just seemed to realize that the meter with the new valve connected was longer than the length of the meter box; and that when he broke off the wall of the box to make room for his new meter/valve invention. I got the water into the house that evening. Thank you. I asked him about the cost of the box. He called the office and gave me three prices - 80, 90, 100. What! So confusing. Then, he gave me the price for the job. O.K. It's not cheap. I told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor or boss before I could make decision. Anyway, I paid $125.- him as asked for his coming to get water into the house -- but not to break water meter box because he was careless and required me to pay for his mistake!

Soon later, each connection between the host and water meter and the host to the valve in front of the house started leaking .

I had a bad feeling since he broke the wall of the water meter and later the host connection started leaking. Is this the work of the 26-year-experienced plumber?

The next morning I called the office trying to talk to the owner or any supervisor because I wanted to know what would happen in the re-piping procedure and what would be charged on me. In short, I wanted to get the invoice and final price. Nobody called me back or stopped at my house. Never got any invoice either.

Also, I reported to the office about the water leaking at the host connection. I had to call the office two more times to get the price, but no invoice or any details about the work.

Do I have the right to know what I would be charged for - in writing?

The same plumber came back around 3 pm. spent about 5 minutes fixing the leak at the host connection. Shortly after he left, the host connection started leaking again. I had to put a bucket underneath the leaking spot. Don't want to waste the water to the ground - the water I was going to pay for even though it was not my fault! The next morning, I got the 2-gallon bucket full of water from the leak.

Mr. supervisor called me around 4:30 pm. while I was driving. Listening to his message later, I found out the price plus I had to pay for the water meter box and another extra thing - to replace the water meter. What? The plumber guy had never mentioned anything about replacing the water meter. I called him back when I parked my car. It was around 4:45 pm. Nobody got my call. So, their working hour from 7:00 to 5:30 is a joke!

Now, without an invoice in writing and an opportunity to discuss the work with the company's authority face-to-face, will I get any more surprise?

Sincerely, I felt sorry for myself that I called this company believing that they have been in business since 1970 should warrant their being professional and high quality of work and customer services. Wrong! For two days I have been dealing with them, I could not find any! Just a hosting job, their 26-year-experienced plumber could not make it stopped leaking. What was going to happen if I let them do the repiping work.

I decided not to do business with Water Quality any more.

I would like to recommend TrenchFree company, which I turned to. Fast, highly professional and exceptionally working quality. Great customer services and courtesy.

5 stars for Water Quality Plumbing. I had an issue with my garbage disposal in my townhome so I decided to use yelp to find a good plumber in my neighborhood. What I thought was awesome was they answered the phone by the third ring and the was able to give a roundabout number for what it was going to cost.
Now I thought the problem was just a few bolts that needed to be replaced but when the plumber came he kindly showed me that the disposal was rotted and had holes in it. Another awesome part of this service was that they had the same exact disposal unit on the truck so there was no need to for them to leave and come back. Now I looked on line and they up charged me a little on the disposal but really it was worth the convenience. All in all the job took about an hour and that is about how long the lady on the phone told me it was going to take .
Thanks for great service.

Just as a funny side note. All plumbers should wear overalls. Just sayin....

UPDATE on 5/15/12: I had a follow-up discussion with the current owner. I learned that, although he is the fellow in the video, he isn't the unprofessional guy referenced in my review. Therefore, poor customer service may be a thing of the past at Water Quality Plumbing.

That said, I stand by my review and 2-star rating, since they fairly and accurately portray my personal experience with the firm when my home was re-piped many years ago. Bottom line -- My review and 2-star rating may not be applicable today, but I can't realistically update them, since the firm has not done any work for me since the re-piping.

Very happy with their service. Gave me a good rough estimate over the phone. Oscar came out and did a great job. Saved me $100 compared to a competing bid.

Water Quality plumbing is the best, simply because of their professional and honest approach. I work in the water industry, and I have seen many plumbing companies come and go, but Water Quality is still around because of their top customer service and delivery of quality services. Looking for any service provider can be difficult because you never know what you will get.. this is not the case with Water Quality. Top service every time, prompt and on time, and always a friendly ear to ask questions to!

They have ruined all other plumbers. I wouldn't dream of calling anyone else. Jeff was so nice and very professional. He went above and beyond, working fast and throughly. He replaced our toilet and fixed our disposal, fixing little things to make the repair better.

I highly recommend!

It was after 5pm on a Friday evening, my wife called me to tell me water was coming through one of the ceiling light fixtures downstairs. Somehow, the bathroom upstairs was leaking water from the toilet. The water in the toilet was down really low, and the reservoir was full with water and yet the floor was covered in water... So I went Yelp, and found WQP and called them because the reviews sounded promising. Since it was a Friday after 5pm, I wasn't sure what to expect. Someone picked up after the third ring, took down my info and told me Chris would be calling me shortly. He called, told me he had another customer ahead of of me but would get to me as soon as he could. $180 to come this evening, or $125 to wait until Monday. He did tell me over the phone I could print out a coupon to save 10 bucks online which was helpful.

Bottom line: Very professional and courteous. Turns out my toilet is old, and got clogged, I could have fixed it myself if I'd had an augur at home. Live and learn. I will buy an augur from Home Depot to have it next time in case my toilet gets backed up again. I'm only giving them four stars because it really sucked to have to pay 170 bucks to have some come to the house to unclog my toilet. Seems excessive, but like I said, I didn't call anyone else to be able to compare prices.

I called them in the morning at 8 am for my leaking hot water heater. The plumber showed up at 9:30 am the same day and started the installation. Richard was efficient, clean and friendly. I highly recommend them. Great prices as well!
