I highly recommend Victor Garcia and his company VRG Plumbing. He returned our call within an hour on Thursday and came to our home on Saturday to clear a large amount of concrete from our downspout and pipe. He is efficient, thorough, friendly and reasonable. He will be our go to guy for all our plumbing needs. A great find!

Careful- this review is so good you might not believe it. But you should.

My water heater started leaking furiously last night - a huge problem, since I had house guests. I knew only enough to turn the water off in the whole house and call my brother, who works as a carpenter in Oakland and knows everybody. He gave me the name of a friend, an electrician, who I hired to do some work a couple of years ago. Turns out the electrician's brother, Victor, is a plumber. Victor returned my call right away and told me he would be at my place this morning (Sunday morning!) at 8 am. That's exactly when he showed up. 2 hours later, my water heater was installed, and my house guests and my family and I were good to go. The price was totally reasonable for any day of the week, much less a Sunday. Also because the leak in the old heater was hard to stop, and because it was near some carpet, I figured a tradesman was going to be making a bit of a mess but, hey, you have to crack eggs to make an omelet. In fact, he put down tarps and so forth and the carpet was every bit as clean when he left as when he arrived. He's a totally first-rate guy who did great work at a great price and in a real pinch. Highly recommended. And, for what it's worth, his brother is a fabulous electrician!

I have hired Victor for both big and small jobs over many years. I first met him when he worked for a well-known high priced Berkeley based company. That company made three trips to my house failing the first two times until Victor came over and immediately solved the problem.. Since he went 'solo' he has been my go to guy. It is almost like having a plumber in the family, in that you know he will do the absolute best job, for a very fair price. I always want to overpay him for the quality work that he does. Hire him if you want to get your money's worth, and the best quality workmanship. You won't find a more competent or professional plumber, nor a nicer man.

I've been using Victor for about 15 years now. He replaced 20 foot of sewer line, and lots of other jobs big and small. He's an awesome plumber--he gets it right the first time! He always seems to have the parts he need on his truck. I really couldn't be happier. And as an added bonus, his brother Ovideo is just as good an electrician and his other brother Edgar is a very reasonable carpenter/contractor--he just finished an in-law kitchen for me. And they are all super nice guys!

The first time I called Victor was after seeing these reviews which sounded almost too good to be true.
I needed a gas line brought in from the utility room under the kitchen straight up to my new gas range. I had already gotten an estimate from another plumber who kept asking me how I wanted it done (I'm not a plumber!). Victor instead started adding up all the BTUs from my appliances, fireplace, furnace, water heaters, etc... before informing me of how it needed to be done. His estimate was very reasonable unlike the other plumber's. He showed up on schedule and did a great job hooking up the line. That was several months ago.

Now comes the better part of my review. We started our full kitchen remodel, removed our old 70's cabinets and discovered that the plumbing was actually on the outside of the walls! (instead of embedded in the walls). We had our kitchen contractor on site, and the pipes kept him from being able to attach the new cabinets to the walls, so it felt like the project was going to hit a major delay. I left a message for Victor the next day at 6:30am. He called about an hour to an hour and a half later apologizing for not calling back right away... Really?? :o)
I was at work and he said he was on another project a few miles away from my house and would go over there to see what could be done. He needed to see how much room was in the wall so asked my contractor to open it up a little, take phone pics and send them to him that day so he could come prepared the very next day around 8am to embed all the water and drain pipes, WHICH HE DID!!! He brought his crew that morning and worked all morning, only to charge me a very reasonable amount. The project got right back on track thanks to him.

So who has ever heard of a busy highly rated plumber not only returning calls, but showing up and doing the job on an emergency basis all the while charging you his usual reasonable rates?

I say many reviews for Victor up in the Monclair Village, so I called Victor to come out to fix my leaking toilet, he was clear to describe the problem and offered two suggestions pending on how much I wanted to spend. He bought the parts and fixed the problem in less then 1 hour. He cleaned after he finished it was great. I highly recommend him.
