ZERO Stars. So now November 8th , I got a message from Home Warranty saying that Value Rooter will be coming to replace Hot Water Heater between 8am-5pm today the 8th! Ok, finally! THEN I recieved a call from Value Rooter saying that because of prior engagements that they will be coming AFTER 5PM!!! WT??????????!!!!??? Prior before me, waiting 2 WEEKS. Then get a call from the contractor A.H. saying that I will be paying $750 OUT OF POCKET on top of this mess!!! My warranty confirmed that I will not pay anything more! I shared that information with contractor Ashley H at Value Rooter and he NEVER returned my call or NEVER SHOWED UP!! Going on WEEK 3 with no HOT WATER!!

Here is a copy of the email I sent to which no one there has acknowledged:
I want to express a couple issues I have had during this repair that no one has addressed or acknowledged.
1) I called the day prior to make sure we were ok to start on Thursday Feb 15th. I was told "all ok". I drove over 2 hours on way to get there only to be told by the installer that we could not proceed because the gas lines were not marked. That was a complete waste of my day.
2) I told the installer that I was there to see the actual damage and take pictures of it. He said no problem and would make sure I got the pictures. I have not received anything.
3) The next day, the tenant called me and sent me pictures of he complete mess left behind. Not sure what to say about that except wow.
4) I asked for an invoice to reflect the amount to be paid. Not a hard request. I need it for various reasons. Since the price negotiated with Joe was over email, I need an actual invoice to reflect the amount I will be paying. Not a hard or unusual ask but I certainly don't need an attitude from "Evan" calling me to collect when I asked for the invoice.

American Home Shield warranty sent these guys out. The service men weren't rude, but not that friendly either...They couldn't give me an arrival time, so there was lots of waiting around. They fixed one of the small leaks in the bathroom, which was nice.
The plumbers then went to look at the leak on the copper refrigerator line in the garage and said the home warranty wouldn't cover it because of the way the line was twisted. The only reason the line might have been twisted (as I explained) was because I had to pull it out through the wall to figure out where it was leaking. They took some pictures and called it in...Nevertheless they spent over an hour waiting on hold with AHS to get approval. They didn't get it. They gave me an estimate to replace the line for over $600 or spot fix the line with compression fittings for almost $300 plus I had already spent the $75 service fee. We just had a babby and I was trying to save time by using these guys... I wasn't going to spend over $300 though. I did it myself in an hour and spent $20 to get the parts.

After taking 4 days, numerous phone calls and broken promises to get a tech out to my house to access the problem (backing up toilets from cracked sewer line caused by roots), the quote was $1700 (not covered by warranty service). Once quoted Value Rooter was very willing to fix quickly. A second opinion/quote was $541 to fix the same problem. Get a second quote!

HORRIBLE!!! My review will sound like all the other reviews. Assigned by our home warranty. We waited most of our day after receiving an email that Thomas will be at our house between 11:30 to 4 to fix our water heater. We called at 4pm and was told that the technician was 20 minutes away and almost done with his job. When another hour 1/2 went by we called and kept getting their voicemail. We called our warranty and they told us that the company had no record of us today and they are all booked up. How are they still in business?!?! DO NOT waste your time waiting for these people!!!

Without a doubt- the WORST place to call for any repairs. Customer service and reliability SUCK! Just Run! Even if it is through your home warranty company- ask for someone else or consider paying out of pocket. It's a better outcome. There are plenty of reputable places that won't waste your time or give you the runaround. This place is not one of them.

I WISH I COULD CHOOSE NO STARS FOR THIS COMPANY. The first time somrone came from this company he said he went to Fergusons in Killeen and they gave him a broke thermostat (really?) and he had to order a new one. It wasnt scheduled to be here until 6 days later on a Monday. That Monday, someone came and "fixed" my water heater at 8 pm (appointment was supposed to be 5 hours prior). It stopped working on Thursday. I contacted them for someone to come back out. An appointment was scheduled for today (Sunday January13th between 11-3. I was informed that they called (I didn't get a call) and because I didnt answer my phone they decided to reschedule. They didnt bother to even come to my house! Since I didnt answer (even though I had an appointment SCHEDULED) they decide to just say "oh well" and not show up. Even if I did get a call and didnt answer, WHY WOULD THEY NOT SHOW UP?? The first person didnt call he just showed up and rang the door bell like any other person would! Ive been calling them ALL day and it just goes to an answering service!!! DONT NOT USE THEM FOR ANY OF YOUR SERVICE NEEDS!!!

My home warranty company (AHS) sent this company to repair or replacement my hot water. I have never had any issues using AHS before but this company was absolutely the worst! There customer service is by far the most horrible I have ever encountered---all 3 different people I talked to were not caring, rude and unpleasant. FIrst of all why would a company that is almost an hour away from Austin be servicing me? When the first visit didn't fix the problem I had to drain the heater myself-of course it was on a Saturday and called them immediately on Monday to re-schedule another visit. I was told they would be out on Tuesday so I waited home all day on Tuesday--the window of the visit was a ridiculous 8am to 5pm, because we love to sit at home to wait all day! When I hadn't heard from anyone at 4:55pm, I called the office but got no answer. I called again at 5:15 and left a message. No call, no show! I then had to call them back on Wednesday to find out why no one called or showed up. The office personnel were very rude and had no response or reason. They then couldn't schedule me again until Thursday--as I had to work in the afternoon, I asked to be the first person on the list for the visit. No way I was told. It would depend on the scheduling. Really?!? I had already waited around all day on Tuesday and they couldn't due me the service of being the first on the list for the next day's schedule. So they call me at 3:30 pm on Thursday to say he was on his way, even though I had already told them I had to leave at 12:30 for work. SO inconsiderate and unprofessional. I lost it and told them exactly what I thought of their service and customer relations. At this point I had not had hot water since the previous Friday and did they care--of course not! So I called AHS and complained loudly and vocally. AHS arranged from them to come on Friday and naturally they wanted to come after I had to leave for work. I had to get a friend to sit at my house so the service guy could say I needed a new hot water. Like I didn't know that already. The office staff called me on Monday to tell me that after AHS paid them I would have to shell out an additional $1012 for add ons to replace the hot water heater! What a rip off. They wanted to put in a new drain pan-I already have a perfectly good one. To pull permits at the city--I live in an unincorporated area and no permits are needed. They wanted extra dollars for tank disposal, expansion tank, modify plumbing lines, hard piping (whatever that is), Totally a rip off!
I called a local plumber on Monday and he came on Tuesday and installed a new upgraded water heater per code and had it installed and working in no time. He charged me $900 for all that was needed! He modified all the lines per current regs, disposed of the old tank, supplied a new tank . I was totally happy with him.
Value Rooter was not only going to the the $$ from AHS but then wanted to gouge me for another $1000. I would never ever recommend them.
This has been the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. The office staff are the worst customer service staff I have ever encountered.
I would give them ZERO stars!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING! I had a leaky faucet and a broken toilet. They diagnosed the problem and said they would be back in two days. Two weeks later I had heard nothing. Called and they finally scheduled us for another week of on Monday. Monday comes and goes and they never show up or call. Tuesday morning they guarantee that they will be there between 8a and 5p. At 3:30 per still hasn't heard anything so I call and am told someone will be there by 4:30p. Someone does show up, but didn't know why he was there or have any parts to complete the repair. He tells us someone will be back out first thing Wednesday morning. I call Wednesday morning and am told the order shows the work was already competed and no one would be out. After some flaring tempers they straighten out their mistake and indicate they will be out Wednesday between 9a and 5p. They don't show. I canceled my work order and called a different plumber. For the love of God, don't use this circus show of a plumbing company.

I am reading the reviews and in the middle of working with this company now. I had a service request for last Friday to clear a clogged drain in the kitchen. The lady in Belton gave me an 9 to 5 window for them to arrive, they showed up at 5:45. Arriving late, they looked at the drain pipe under the sink, agreed that there were 45 degree angles that would make snaking the pipe difficult, walked around the outside of my house and found that the drain line had an entry point on the roof and it would need to be cleared from there (Which is what I had told them). They told me they didnt have insurance to go on the roof at their job and if they did do it, it would cost an extra 285 dollars. So, seeing that it was getting dark anyway, I let them go their merry way, it was just a day lost for me. I called AHS today and as of now, the Tuesday evening after, they (AHS) have no record of the techs showing up and are hesitant to offer me another option. They reached out to Belton to find the techs to get their analysis, and the techs are nowhere to be found. After what Im seeing here, and after what Ive experienced, I think I just may have to do this myself or call my own plumber. There is truth to whats being wrote here.
