DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! My bad. I requested a quote for a mini split unit from this company in 2017 for what I thought would be my solution for my air conditioner not providing effective cooling in my home. Signed up at the Home and Garden Show. Of course, no one came out even after we called them twice. So in 2018 we signed up again thinking this year would be different. Simon came out and gave me completed quote with someone elses name on it, that he just scratched off with his pen. He did not even look at my existing unit, which I found out from another bid that it is over 25 years old and needs replacing. How can you sell me a mini split without finding my problem? Not a way to do business. After we were approved for the 0% interest card, we called him twice on his cell phone and once on his office voicemail and NO RETURN CALL. After 3 weeks someone from the office called stating that Simon was unsuccessful in reaching me by phone and requested I call her back. We don't live in the era of landline phones anymore. I know who and when people call me, so this was a lie! I did try to call her back but of course I got a voicemail. Seems no one answers a phone at this company.

I have known Tobbie and Brian for several years now. I personally know them to be honest and trustworthy people that value not only their immediate family but also there extended family of employees which is seen as Brian goes around the office wishing all a good Morning! Called VAR to come out and diagnose a/c unit that was not cooling. Busy time of the year for air conditioning, but a technician came out within 2 days. He did a thorough check of the unit and diagnosed a restriction do to a malfunctioning thermal expansion valve. VAR sourced the part and repaired a/c within 2 days under original estimate. Unit has been working flawlessly for the last week. Technicians called with their estimated time of arrival, were professional and did great work. VAR personnel kept us informed of technician availability and part procurement. They returned calls, were very polite and professional. We are very pleased with the service VAR provided.

Originally, I gave my review for CVA back in August. It was less than 3 stars. That was the only way I could get the promised quote, following the onsite assessment. I had two similar occurrences of the sales rep, Simon, not getting back to me. And lip service excuses when I called back. Following my unfavorable review, everything improved and promises kept, regarding information and quote. [UPDATE, Aug 2016. As above indicated I name CVA, this is confusing. CVA Is an Atwater company. They got the review or somehow Yelp transferred it to CVA. ?? But I got a call from Simon, last Sept, requesting me to amend it. I now see that my review does not appear on VAR. So I need to fix.]
Yes, I had way too many questions and uncertainties, but I was searching for trust and confidence in this process. Before long it was October. I went without AC July thru Nov. No problem. I wanted to make the right decisions and I had difficulty with anyone being certain of the size unit for my home. Granted, it was on the borderline, 1600sq ft, along with other considerations for insulation, windows, exposure.... I dropped it for a couple weeks. At my wits end, now it's November, I almost went with VAR. But there were just a couple more questions to rest my mind at ease. Prior to this, numerous emails were answered. But this, what could have been final one, went unanswered. Again! I guess Simon was a bit fed up. And I can understand that. I was fed up too! I STILL had no sound reasoning for SIZE of unit and I had a question regarding the sealing of duct lines, as I thought we were replacing the existing ducting. No reply. Just 3 weeks prior, at this salesperson's request, I had removed my original review, in which I had previously improved from one to 3 stars. So this is my final say on this experience. Sorry, again! I just saw that 3 stars is ""A-OK!"" NO it was not OK! At the time of this final review, my new HVAC unit has been installed, by another local company, who furnished me with ALL the answers I needed, IN ONE VISIT, including unit size, deducting answers, and TRUST!! And NO emails. Unbelievable! EOS! AMEN!

This place definitely doesn't even deserve one star. They installed a new 5 ton A/C unit on my roof a few years back. I thought it was done correctly until the first rain came. The small reservoir of water that gathered in my living room was not part of the deal we agreed on. Upon climbing on my roof to see what was causing the water I could see that they didn't seal the unit to the bonnet and the unit was not even close to level. I called to express my displeasure and was told the warranty was up and there was nothing that could be done to help me. How pathetic is that response. If I would have known that Stevie Wonder was installing my A/C unit I would have kindly opted out. I worked for a local A/C for years and this by far is the worst job I've ever seen. After thousands of dollars in paint and Sheetrock and A/C repairs we are fine. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is right in line with their technicians...horrible. It's a shame this place is still around. I Hope this helps others that are considering doing business with this company.

We are on a 6mos service plan. VAR is always prompt about calling to remind us and scheduling an appointment. Jason cleaned the heater and changed our filters. VAR is always helpful.
We have also used there plumbing services.
Jason was also very courteous.

VAR serviced our heater. Jason explained the whole procedure and was very friendly. He also offered to inspect our filters. We agreed so he inspected them and let us know that they were still clean. He also gave us information about how to keep the air in our house clean. VAR reminds us every spring and fall that it is time to have our air conditioner or heater serviced. We appreciate that reminder. So all in all a very pleasant experience.

We currently had a new AC unit installed by VAR. They were priced fair. Great financing. They were out here and gave us our estimate within 24 hours of calling. They told us things that 4 other companies failed to inform us. Everything was delivered and installed as told. Staff was very friendly and respectful. Steve Mendrin was amazing and put no pressure on us. I highly recommend VAR!

I've used VAR a couple of times in the past, once for a fan motor replacement on an ancient a/c unit (incredible they found one, and installed it on the 4th of July), and then again over the phone they helped me determine the issue with the condenser and I was able to take care of it myself. Fast forward, today finished the installation of 2 new units, one heat and one a/c. Jose and Frank did the installation and were beyond professional and answered all my questions. Anthony came out ahead of the job to measure for special duct work, and Simon was the man in sales who came out to give me the estimate. Everyone in the office was very knowledgable and nice. It only lasted 2 and a half days, too. Great work, I'm very happy. I'd recommend them to anyone. Thank you!

We are quick to post a negative review, but I felt it important to tell people when I am happy with a company's service. I have been having my ac/heating system serviced and repaired for years by Valley Air. LOVE 'EM! The service is great, timely and they make every effort to make sure I get my fave tech who is amazing. The office staff is very courteous and friendly when I call in. I don't think you will be disappointed with this company.
