We had a failure of a galvanized drain pipe in the wall behind our kitchen sink last Friday.

I immediately called Val Betti Plumbing and they scheduled our repair for the first thing on Monday.

Ryan came at 8:40 and looked at the job, went and retrieved the necessary parts from the shop as they are close by, and completely re-plumbed that section of the drain system under our kitchen sink, finishing up a little after noon.

I could not be more pleased at how the job turned out. I consider myself to be fairly competent at household repairs, but it was a pleasure to watch a professional in action. There was no wasted effort in time or material. Ryan did a magnificent job of producing first class results in a most efficient manner.

There's no way I could have done this job by myself. Thank you, Val Betti from the bottom of my heart.

I'm giving them a 5 because although not perfect, perhaps, they are the best plumbing service you'll find in the near East Bay. Responsive, on time, reasonable prices -- unlike Nahman or Ehret -- friendly, and apparently very good at what they do. I've tried most Berkeley plumbers, and Val Betti is the best of the lot.

Ryan was our plumber and he did a killer job, we are so happy with the beautiful results!

We're in the midst of a bathroom remodel and had to have them come out to plumb the trap and drain in our bathtub as my husband and friend got stuck and needed assistance. Val Betti to the rescue!

Because of our job needing to be inspected by the city, they would have to come out twice, the first time Ryan finished very quickly with 10 minutes to spare in his hour and asked us what other things we needed, if anything, so nice! Thanks to him, we know we'll be calling back again to have a kitchen sink issue worked on.

All totaled, we're very happy for the work done for the price, it was about $430 for both visits combined and if we'd not needed the inspection by the city(shakes fist at city), it would have been only around $270. The second visit was just the service call and time.

In addition to the plumber himself being wonderful, everyone who answered the phone at the office and made the appointments were also great. I'm not used to companies being so customer service oriented anymore, and it is really wonderful to get that as you do from Val Betti.

They fixed a leaky bathtub faucet and the bill was nearly $200. The $45 service call is on top of the labor of $100/hr. They are only 3 blocks away. It took a few days for them to come out. Though they know what they are doing, they are too expensive for the value. I'd have been ok to be charge the service call if we ended up not using the service. But to charge that much on a service call on top of the $100 /hr labor is not reasonable; considering they are less than 1 mile away.

Called for help with a leaky shower valve. They couldn't come out for 24 hrs. The next day they were out for 20 minutes and the service call plus labor were already about $100. Not as reasonable as I remember. Next time I'll ask about costs before having them come out. A handyman might have fixed it for less.

We called about a cracked pipe under our kitchen sink. Thad came on schedule and replaced the entire system within two hours. He had all the necessary parts on his truck. He also was honest about the condition of our garbage disposal (it was trashed). We decided we didn't need a disposal, which probably simplified the job. Price quoted on the phone is what we were charged--no surprises!

I live in Martinez and today my water heater died. I made a call to a different plumber first. They were qualifying me over the phone obviously to learn that I have no knowledge of water heaters so I could get charged a very high price. I then called Val Betti plumbing and immediately felt comfortable. Valentino known as Tino Betti came out and put in a new water heater just like that and I was charged hundreds less than the other plumber was going to charge me. Now I know who to call when I want someone I trust as a plumber that will do an honest good job for me!!!

Val Betti Plumbing could have sold us a $1300 water heater, but told us all we really needed was a $108 repair. These guys are HONEST and good. Don't hesitate to call them.
