Total Service PHD is led by Ken Roche, a licensed master plumber. Ken began his plumbing journey at the age of 10, working with his father, who was also a licensed master plumber. You could say Ken is a true expert, possessing a ""plumbing PHD,"" as plumbing runs deep in his veins. With 18 years of service in Steamboat, previously known as Roche Plumbing and Heating, Ken and his team have proven their worth. Their expertise spans plumbing, heating, drains, and sewer services. Ken Roche earned his Masters License at just 25 years old and launched Roche Plumbing & Heating in 1994. Under Ken's guidance, the business expanded rapidly, transitioning from custom homes and condos to full-service plumbing. In 1997, he started Core Bore for concrete demolition, later selling it in 2001 to launch ""Monsters of the Underground"". He expanded into Roche Trenchless Plumbing in 2001, using state-of-the-art video equipment, locators, and high-pressure jetters to resolve complex drain and sewer challenges. His team can line existing pipes with premium epoxy and polyester, effectively repairing old sewers without excavation. Currently, Ken has renamed the business Total Service P.H.D. to showcase the extensive services provided.

As the son of a master plumber and general contractor, Ken Roche is naturally suited for this work. Ken hails from upstate New York, graduated from Niagara University in 1991, and relocated to Steamboat Springs to try out the ""ski bum"" lifestyle. Like many others, he found that the ""lifestyle"" was not as fulfilling as expected and sought reliable employment. He turned back to the profession he was most familiar with: plumbing. He earned his Masters License at 25 and started Roche Plumbing & Heating in 1994, later transforming it into Total Service, PHD. Ken's ""one call does it all"" philosophy at Total Service covers all aspects, from major excavation and sewer repairs to perimeter drains and septic systems. With one phone call, his experienced team can take care of it all. This also encompasses general contracting for extensive flood damage from frozen and burst pipes.
