Total Service PHD is led by Ken Roche, a licensed master plumber. From the age of 10, Ken was immersed in plumbing, learning from his father, a licensed master plumber. It's fair to say that plumbing is in Ken's DNA, earning him the title of ""plumbing PHD"". Ken and his team have been a trusted name in Steamboat for 18 years, formerly operating as Roche Plumbing and Heating. Their expertise spans plumbing, heating, drains, and sewer services. Ken Roche earned his Masters License at just 25 years old and launched Roche Plumbing & Heating in 1994. Ken's leadership propelled the business forward, evolving from custom home projects to a full-service plumbing operation. In 1997, he ventured into concrete demolition with Core Bore, but sold it in 2001 to create ""Monsters of the Underground"". In 2001, he broadened his offerings with Roche Trenchless Plumbing, employing cutting-edge video cameras, locators, and high-pressure jetters to address challenging drain and sewer problems. This method enables his expert team to apply high-grade epoxy and polyester lining to existing pipes, fixing old sewers without the need for digging. Today, Ken has rebranded the business as Total Service P.H.D. to reflect the wide range of services offered.

Being the son of a master plumber and general contractor, Ken Roche is destined for this profession. Ken, a native of upstate New York, graduated from Niagara University in 1991 and settled in Steamboat Springs to experience the ""ski bum"" lifestyle. Like many others, he found that the ""lifestyle"" was not as fulfilling as expected and sought reliable employment. He turned back to the profession he was most familiar with: plumbing. At the age of 25, he secured his Masters License and launched Roche Plumbing & Heating in 1994, ultimately rebranding to Total Service, PHD. Ken's ""one call does it all"" philosophy at Total Service covers all aspects, from major excavation and sewer repairs to perimeter drains and septic systems. With one phone call, his experienced team can take care of it all. This includes general contracting services for significant flood damage caused by frozen and burst pipes.
