This company was repairing a gas line at my condo complex so I asked them to do some work at a house we were refurbishing for rental. It turned into the best experience I have had with a plumbing company, for the following reasons:

-Steve, the owner, kept in touch to confirm the appointment, to reschedule when 2 of his employees were ill, and to make sure I was satisfied with the work after it was completed.

-Ryan arrived right at the scheduled time. Based on my years of experience with contractors in all fields, this is a rarity. He was also articulate and well-groomed (no ""plumber's crack"" here!).

-He took the time to explain what he was going to do and he worked efficiently and quickly to accomplish the repairs. He also cleaned up after the job--other than things working again, you couldn't even tell he had been there.

-The cost was much more reasonable than what I have been charged by other plumbing companies.

Good business practices, friendly efficient interaction with both the owner and staff, and good prices--I will be recommending Top Quality to my friends and family!

Steve and Top Quality Plumbing are the BEST! We called Steve on Christmas eve with a plumbing emergency which resulted in having to shut down all of the water to the entire house. Steve had one of his professional plumbers out to make the repair in just one hour. Their plumber repaired the broken part quickly, and was very curteous and professional. Top Quality plumbing was sent to our rental several times by our landlord. The first time was to fix leaky pipes under the house. Besides leaving a pretty big mess behind the work was quick and efficient. However the last time Top quality was sent they came to check for pipes leaking in our walls. For some reason they decided the best way was to put a hole in our kitchen cabinet. I would think that if Top quality is able to do plumbing and heating that they could patch a hole? Instead they left us with a huge hole that let in cold air and bugs.

Unfortunately Top Quality was sent out again to work on installing a new heating unit. They barricaded a large area off with plastic to protect drywall and dust from flying all over our place which was great. What i wasn't a huge fan of was the constant cursing and yelling coming from the crew as I was in bed recovering from surgery. At the end of day 1 the gentleman informed that they needed to keep the barricade up so it would be easier to clean up tomorrow morning. I said i guess if thats what needs to be done not knowing they left a hole from floor to celing in my living room. The tarp filled with dust and debris and hand saws laying freely on the floor. I had to lock my animals up all night because naturally they wanted to climb into the walls and check things out. The next day they returned and finished. Stating they had to leave the hole in the wall until the inspector showed up as the cold air and bugs come up. They did an ok job with cleaned. But the best past of it all is they turned off our gas and didn't turn it back on. So that evening we discovered we had no hot water or a working oven or stove. Someone from top quality came out about 20hrs later to fixed it and said "" my appologizes man, we were in a rush yesterday"". Very poor customer service skills, rushed thru the job and left us with a very sour taste in our mouth. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

We have been using Top Quality Plumbing for 10 years. Steve, the owner, is on top of things and responds to last minute emergencies with lightning speed. Pricing is fair and reasonable and the quality of work performed by any plumber who has come out to our house or our rental property has been top notch.

Would not hesitate to use them again and always recommend Top Quality Plumbing to friends and family.

Called this company with a backed up drain in my back yard from the rain storm over the weekend Steve was very responsive sent out a tec named Ryan fixed the problem great workmanship at a great price i highly recommend this company Thanks again Rob

Great service and definitely great quality. Steve the owner was quick and efficient. Did not try to hassle me with a price. He was very straight forward and had great prices. His plumber was friendly and I was very satisfied with the work he did! I will absolutely continue to use Top Quality Plumbing!

Called for something pretty simple.

I was told by Steve they'd get back to me on a day two days from my call. That day came and went with no response. I followed up with them and was told ""Sorry, we totally forgot about your job"". We rescheduled a specific time again. They no showed. This went on a few different times and I concluded this was not the plumbing company for me. Then, out of the blue a few weeks later, I get a call looking to see if I still want a quote with more apologies. The apologies seemed genuine but seriously? I had even told them I found them here on Yelp and we talked a bit about reviews etc.

End result? I've learned over the years that when a relationship starts out on a bad note, the quality of work and/or rest of the relationship doesn't usually look any better. Also, it's one thing to cherry pick your business and take more profitable jobs first... maybe they should incorporate this into their customer communications. Even ""Sorry, we're just too busy to take on new business right now"" so that I could move on.

I'm sure from my conversations with the owner that my review will seem uncalled for but my experience (OR I maybe I should say lack of one) is exactly how it played out.

With 5 guys working for this small company (and 3-4 days each week I was available to meet), there's no reason for not be able to provide a quote.

Too many plumbers in the world to deal with this kind of poop. I think this guy actually thinks he's better at managing communications with clients in general than he really is. Based on my experience, I could actually believe the other few bad reviews.

First off this is my first review in 3 years of owning this account. It takes a really bad company to make me get up and warn others about it. I should have read the reviews on Yelp before hiring these clowns to come out and give me a consultation. A technician gets over to my house and gives me a quote twice as much as 2 other shops.

After going with another shop a few days later I get the mysterious call from Steve harassing me about wasting his time. He finally got the clue I went with another shop and is now trying to extort me for the cost of a consultation. I don't think Steve is into doing any business, he's trying to force people to pay for consultation so he wins without working. The only reason why I kept a star was that the guy that actually came out was nice. Just the owners agenda is to not do the job and collect consultation fees without even telling you about any fees.

I have lived in San Diego for 10 years and have never needed a plumber before. But then our home got a slab leak (broken pipe deep below the 4 inch concrete foundation). I had no idea who to call - Angie's List has over 1100 plumbers listed in San Diego alone! (crazy). However, my neighbor used Top Quality Plumbing and I have full confidence in his judgment - but I called around anyway.

Of all the places I called, Steve at Top Quality took the time to explain to me what would have to be done, how long it would take, and how much experience they had in the area. He also gave me the most realistic estimate - he didn't hedge in a list of conditions that would make the job cost 2-3 times more.

Steve sent Francisco over to ""look"" at the job - four hours later, Francisco was done and the repair looked great! It was a big, messy job. But when he was done, you couldn't tell that I ever had a slab leak and that he was ever there! It was perfectly clean and I had hot water!

San Diego has 1 plumbing company that I'm going to use and that is Top Quality Plumbing. Thanks Steve and Francisco!

Outstanding workmanship at a very fair price. Called them early morning and they were able to come out same day within 2 hours. Changed out my water heater quickly. Plumber was Anthony and he was very knowledgable and pleasant to work with. Will call them for my next plumbing need without hesitation.
