Tom's Plumbing Service TPS - La Habra

We asked if TPS come out and replace the toilet flush valve. They have been good in the past. They came out told my wife our toilet was 10 years old and they recommended a replacement. She let me know, and I said forget it, I'll replace the valve. They then said we didn't need to, and that they'll replace the valve. My wife handled the discussions, had to go to work, I was working from home and on calls. They let me know they were complete and that it was $200. They said they replaced the tank bolts and washers as they saw there was a slight drop from one. I thought that was nice. They then said if the toilet still occasionally runs they'll come back out and replace the flapper, but they think the new bolts should do it. That confused me a little bit I had to get back to work, and so I paid them.

Later I found out they did not replace the valve, only the tank bolts. The toilet was still running off and on, and even worse there was still water dripping from one tank bolt.

So they ignored my request to replace the valve, tried to convince my wife we needed a new toilet when we clearly do not, apparently convinced her that only the tank bolts were necessary as that was likely causing the toilet to run (impossible), charged us $200 to replace two bolts and washers, didn't bother to see if the tank bolt replacement worked, stated they'd come back out to replace the flapper of it didn't, which the flapper was fine. If it's $200 to replace 2 bolts, I'm sure their intent was to make as much money off us as possible because we didn't buy a new toilet from them.

I was astonished at this level of service and what I consider to be unethical business practice. I will never use TPS again, and this is after many years of quality service. Apparently their approach has changed and I am not interested.

Sunday James and Julian came out to fix a leaky ball valve. It was leaking pretty bad and I didn't want to wait until Monday. We'd hired TPS previously and had the same top-shelf experience. Crew was clean, professional and reasonable. Most importantly they fixed the issue. Always impressed with TPS. Thank you!!!!

Aidan and Liam were two plumbers that came out to my house within 24 hours to help with an issue that I had. They worked very hard and fixed the issue within 4 hours. By the time they were done, they were drenched in sweat and water so I know they worked very hard. I highly recommend this plumbing company to anyone in this area. I very highly recommend Tom's Plumbing.

They are very professional and knowledgeable and came up with solutions for my almost 60 year-old plumbing that didn't involve tearing up my floors and the disruption inside my house that would have involved.

Tom's does very professional work, on time, and for a Reasonable price. I called the smell good guys and one of the other companies that does all the advertising to clear out my cracked, root infested drains, and I saved a few dollars each time, only so they could sell me the lasting solutions I needed at a cost three times what I ended up paying Toms.

I'm a semi-retired CPA by profession and I know that customers are paying for all the excessive advertising expense. When you do good work at reasonable prices you need all that expense you get word of mouth and good Yelps reiews like the one I'm leaving.

I found Tom's because the next time my drain got clogged (maybe a month later if that) I tried to reach out to a small plumbing company that I remembered my late parents used for decades, Central Plumbing out of La Habra. I ended up being directed to Toms because as I found out the owner of Central had retired and his business was acquired by Tom. My parents swore by Central, so I had Tom's come out even though they didn't have some heavily advertised, loss leader special.

Best plumbing call I ever made By Far!

I finally broke down and did the long-term job we needed (as I said at a cost of about 1/3 what the guys that do all the advertising wanted), and now my plumbing works awesome!

I'm not worrying I'll wake up again tomorrow to go to work only to have plumbing overflowing!

If you want a great plumbing company at a fair price call Tom's.
James was in charge of my project and he was great. I would definitely try and arrange with Tom's to have James come out.

TPS was very competitive and did what they said and did it in a timely manner. The superintendent and the owner both visited the job site several times. It was fascinating to watch the liner they installed in the existing sewer pipe. It saved a massive amount of digging and replacing of the clay pipe.

Women on the phone is beyond rude. Told me they would be there at 8 am. called at 12 said they were running late at 4 we left the property. When I called to reschedule and asked for a more precise time frame she hung up and told me to get another plumber.
