I recently called this business to replace my shower head, and fix a leak in a bathroom faucet. The quote was so expensive that I could not believe it. To replace my shower head, minimum quality, no hand held spray and fix a leaking faucet was $550.00. I almost had a heart attack. I went to Home Depot, bought a shower head with spray for $60, top of the line, bought a cartridge for my faucet for $15. It took me 5 minutes to install both. I am 73 years old, and used to being ripped off, but this is a new low! Don't call Drexler for anything. By the way, I had a coupon for free service call, or it would have been $99 more..Susan Lurding
After they rescheduled my first appointment, the technician showed up, and fixed a pipe. I wanted an estimate on a new 1/2 bath installation. The technician identified a pipe in the basement leading to my furnace as the Main line! When I pointed out that it goes to the furnace, and is not a plumbing line, he stated oh, I didn't really look. In the basement, he removed some insulation from a crawl space door, not in the area needed, I told him not to do that, he put it back, but a few minutes later he went over and took it off again ! He then proceeded to tell me that my kitchen sink and my laundry room was in a different area than they are, and , again, I had to point out the plumbing lines. He then said a 1/2 bath was not possible. The half bath area is in the laundry room on the other side of the bathroom. (Another company has been hired to put in the 1/2 bath, ""No problem"". ). He was not able to remove a faucet in the main bathroom and I had to call and request another appointment with a different tech. Of course, they couldn't make it , as they were ""dealing with all the flooding in Louisville"". As they are the only ones in Louisville who heard about any flooding ( lies, lies, lies), they wanted to reschedule. I don't think so. Don't waste your time with this company.
First appointment was rescheduled due to ""lots of emergency calls"" over the weekend. Rescheduled for the next day. They give 4 hour windows for appointments so had to take two afternoons off from work. They called again 30 minutes before the 4 hour window ended the next day to say they had too many emergencies and needed to reschedule again. Told them we will find someone else, scheduler said that it was fine by her since that would help h...don't understand how that they think this is a way to conduct business.

Did receive a follow up call with apologies and guarantee appointment. Appreciated the follow up call and attempt to correct the issue.
Mary Ann Y.I'd give it a zero if I could..New HVAC unit installed 3 years ago---I've had too many service calls to count. Last time the tech was here(@ 10 days ago) it was actually someone who knew what he was doing---a part of the furnace had been installed wrong AND the wrong size fuses had been installed from the initial installation. Was also informed the ""spring maintenance was sub par & they would call to reschedule it""--well THAT never happened...& now my unit is out again! Asked to have Mr Drexler call me--I was told that was NOT possible & a CSM would call me after the holiday. Hope Mr Drexler is enjoying his holiday---I'm sure his a/c is working!!
Tech came to the house and said I had a leak in my system and that he recommends replacing the system given how expensive the r22 coil and coolant is now. I asked that he provide a quote. He quoted me $2200 to replace the coil and said it would be thousands for the coolant in addition to that. Since, I have made multiple calls to price out the same equipment. Every quote with cool and coolant has been in the $1500 range. I called Tom Drexler And let them know I've felt like the tech was very deceiving. He was trying to sell me a new system. I was referred to the manager of the HVAC department. That was three days ago and have yet to hear back. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Time totally wasted. I take off work because they gave me a 4 hour window from 8-12 to come out this morning. 11:15 rolls around so I decide to call to see what's going on. The lady advises that the plumber is on a job before mine and will be coming out as soon as he is finished. 12:30 comes and still no plumber. I call again. The lady then tells me he has gone to lunch. I said OKAY?? Now what am I supposed to do? You didn't think it was appropriate to give me a call to even let me know? She said well we can book you in the 3-7 time slot for today. In a moment of desperation I decide to go with it. 4:45 comes and this time they do call to let me know the plumber will not be able to make it and want to know if I can reschedule for tomorrow? I said are you kidding me?? You have totally wasted my entire day! I won't be foolish enough to do the same thing tomorrow. Do not book them!
Don't believe the $99 drain special especially if the technician George M. shows up. They will try to triple the price while thinking about ways to add thousands to the bill. The guy seemed as though he didn't want to be here and his attitude made me not want him here, he didn't even want to see what the drain was doing.
I used Tom Drexler for a bathroom remodel. Their work is great, but the company has no sense of organization, scheduling, and checking ordered items from the manufacturer. During our remodel and installation the workers noticed the wrong bathroom vanity came in (bigger size than it needed to be) so they had to re-order. They told me this would take about 2 weeks to come in and they would call me to schedule and finish the bathroom. After multiple calls to the company after two weeks to see if the vanity came in, no one had any information for me except that the vanity was not there. Finally after a month the correct vanity came in and the workers came out to install. After showing me the bathroom, I noticed the side panel for the vanity (so it would match the front) was not there. The side was brown and the front was grey. The workers did not even notice or choose not to say anything. I had to call and get another panel ordered for the vanity and was told again it would take two weeks to come in. Two and a half months later I am still waiting to get the panel installed to my vanity in the bathroom. A remodel that was supposed to take 5 days is now at two and a half months without completion. Absolutely ridiculous! I will not use Tom Drexler for a remodel ever again.
Mark E.Tom Drexler Company, Talked me into putting an High Efficiency Amana Air Conditioning Unit in One year ago. It cost me $6300 for which I am still making payments. They unit continues to have a communication problem on the wiring. They have been out at least 10 times telling me that there re-wiring should take care of it. For which it continues to have the exact same problem each time. This weekend they came out twice, put a new thermostat, Not twenty minutes after they left it went out and I have not had air conditioning all weekend. My Grandson has asthma and was spending the weekend with us and we had to give him several breathing treatments because of the heat. They said after I called they would come out first thing Monday morning. I told them I have afternoon appointments. When I called just now they scheduled for afternoon . They are the worst at remedying a problem and treating the customer fairly. They make big claims, but my experience is they don't live up to it. I would definitely not recommend their service. Jim F.We recently turned on our AC for the first time since October, expecting cool air to help control the hot/humid that is the Louisville area.
Alas, all the moving parts worked but The Cold. Fans and blowers fanned and blew, belts turned, motors whirred, and air moved...but it was the same muggy air that we were trying to get rid of. It was JUST working in October, but all it was now was a friendly blast furnace of UHNG. Having lived in our house for just under a year, we were thinking ""What!?!? We've only been here a year!""

The first thing we did was to call a Plumbing/AC vendor to come and take a look and he told us that it was low on refrigerant (which I really didn't need to pay him $69 to confirm, but whatever) and the cost to refill would be A LOT (over $800), or even more to fix it. To be honest, I wasn't extremely comfortable taking his word at the costs he quoted and I didn't have the best confidence in this vendor. The next step was Tom Drexler.
Michael came out on a Tuesday to size up the situation with our AC and to give us a quote. We could tell right away that Michael had the knowledge and experience to head us down the right path.
After checking the AC compressor and our furnace...and just about everything else...he sat down we went over some stuff. We already knew what the answer was going to be, but we had braced ourselves for it. Since the furnace and AC were installed when the house was built in '94, both had basically outlived their intended lifespan. Yes, we could spend a lot of money fixing one thing, but then a bit further down the line something else was going to break. Based on the age of our system, the best best would be a full replacement.
Long story short (I know it's too long for that), we went with the full system replacement. We signed the papers on Tuesday. On Friday they installed the new system.
On THAT Friday!
Chris and Anthony (?) arrived right when they said they would and went to work sizing up the job and removing the old furnace and compressor. About an hour later another guy shows up with the new units. A little while later the installation manager showed up to see how things were going. By 3:30 they were driving away and my house was getting cool again.
These guys were GREAT. Very professional and very efficient. Chris and Anthony worked great together as a team, didn't waste time, and managed to complete in about 6 hours what I envisioned them taking two days to do.
I can't say enough good about everyone I dealt with at Tom Drexler. GREAT job, guys!
