The journey started with a young boy who had an insatiable curiosity about mechanics and the workings of various devices. His mother frequently discovered toasters and other gadgets taken apart in their home. Two decades later, David was hired by a major plumbing firm in Orange County to handle repairs and upkeep of their vehicles and tools. David succeeded in this role and climbed the corporate ladder, acquiring training in all areas of plumbing. In 1986, David embarked on his own journey by earning his Plumbing Contractor's License. Since then, he has honed his skills and has been invited by the State Contractors License Board to assist in training contractors. David has also played a role in establishing standards for Sanitation System Inspections at the request of the County Health Department. Answered my call, scheduled for next day.
Called to inform me that they had emergency service call to handle and had to reschedule for later that week.
Called me again midday on original scheduled service date and said they'd be able to fit me back in if I was still available.
Plumber was professional and knowledgeable. Replaced original gas shutoff for oven and put new shutoff valve on line feeding hot water heater.
Office was proactive in communicating scheduling delays and got answers to any questions I had.

Thrifty plumbing arrived on time and performed the service that we expected and not an up sale service... Hopefully we won't need them for a while but if we do, we'll definitely use them

Had a horrible experience with this company. Was grossly overcharged by the plumber that showed up. When I called to dispute charges with manger or owner I was told they would touch base with worker and get right back to me. Never heard back left a couple messages. Then noticed the check had been cashed. Never to hear from them again. Definitely a swindlers way of handling business. I would never recommend this company for any repairs or services. There are plenty of other options. Anyone taking advantage over someone in a predicament is far from honest or worth doing any kind of business with.
*had to pick a rating so chose 1 star otherwise I'd give it zero ratings!!

Felt Hustled. Never again. Andrew baited me into either paying him $150.00 service call, (which I wasn't told about), if I didn't have him perform the work, so I let him ""dig"" for $225.00 , he dug 3"", at most.
He wrote on the order form "" dig and find leak, $225.00"" I had already dug and found the leak myself, I pointed out where it was to him but he charged me anyway.
Then he said to actually fix it it would be an additional $365.00, after that he said there was a second leak, that I never saw, and charged me an additional $125.00
I have a family with small kids and needed this repair done pretty desperately, so In my moment of weakness he begins to tell me how much extra work he actually did and how he's going into overtime and not going to charge me for it but don't tell anyone so he doesn't get in trouble.... well he started harping on how people should ""Tip"" and fix so much that I felt I should give him a tip. Not only did I give him a bucket of old plumbing fittings I had laying around (which he will probably use on your house) about $90.00 worth- I also have him a ""TIP"" in the form of a check for $100.00
After sleeping on this experience, we contacted the owner, he expressed concern as he said the ""TIP"" should have never been asked for or taken. Also he said he noticed the bucket of old fittings in the van and Andrew should not have accepted them. He then said he would get back to us with some sort of resolve, we expected some money back as well as the $100.00 ""TIP"" because it sounded like that's where he was heading.
Well, 2 weeks later, all checks paid to them including the $100.00 tip have been cashed, owner does not return our phone calls or emails.
This was a very bad, unprofessional experience and I had to share to potentially keep others from being taken advantage of like this.
Small family here with limited funds and they care not about any of it.
Very disappointed with them, I DO NOT recommend them, go with just about anyone else: O'Brien Plumbing, Acosta or any other locals just NOT thrifty.
Contact me if you'd like me to elaborate further.
Have a nice day everyone. Save your $.

Thrifty Plumbing was a great find here in Arrowhead!-we are new homeowners up here and had to find a plumber to fix existing galvanized pipe and new valve for a new dishwasher install. Andrew was really thorough and extremely helpful! Ended up fixing all these other issues and helping us understand the condition of the piping in place. I'll be using them for anything going forward and asking for Andrew..

Great service from the folks at Thrifty. Cecilia is responsive and on top of things. Dave and Andrew were running a little late, but Cecilia gave me a heads-up in advance. They gave an estimate on the spot and cranked out the work in a few hours (plumbing in a new sink and garbage disposal). Cecilia followed up right away for future work, and so far everything is working great.

The best service on the mountain in an emergency. Twice, Thrifty (JUSTIN specifically!) was the only one to respond same day to emergency repairs at our Lake Arrowhead cabin. The second job required a couple of returns and a search for a very old part. He saved the day and was very professional at the same time. I wouldn't call anyone else.

It seems they only do work that is ""routine"". They were not able to fix a more complicated situation I had. So I called another plumber who fixed it without blinking an eye. Thrifty plumber also work on commission, so they hike up charges. A $5 part will cost you $30 if they provide it. Avoid if you have another option.

We have had water pressure issues ever since we bought our home in Arrowhead last summer. After dealing with a number of plumbers trying to fix the issue (including getting some unnecessary work done that fixed nothing), we were told we needed a new main line and a pump which was looking to be an expensive fix. On someone's rec we called Thrifty, who after initial check sent us Justin. After hours of testing, Justin located the problem, and it turned out to be some old valve buried 3' deep outside the house that was restricting water flow. After Justin removed it and did whatever else magic he did, we got our water flow back to normal, at a fraction of price of replacing the main line. And needless to say replacing the main probably wouldn't even fix our issue, and would be a tremendous waste of money. I am never calling any other plumber again!

We have had Thrifty plumbing do so much work at our cabin & everything they have done is top-notch! We had a huge mess with a sewer line backing up & they recommended a terrific clean-up service & then Dave did a tremendous job of putting a new line in for us. He also tackled the very difficult task of installing a wall-mounted toilet for us & it was perfectly done, too. I bought a new bowl sink for our bathroom & he took care of installing that with all the needed changes! They are also trustworthy & prompt!
