It all started with a little boy who was intrigued by how things operated and had a knack for mechanics. His mother often found toasters and other appliances disassembled around the house. Fast forward twenty years, David began working at a leading plumbing company in Orange County, where he maintained their vehicles and equipment. David excelled in this position and progressed through the ranks, gaining training in every aspect of the plumbing industry. In 1986, David ventured out independently, securing his Plumbing Contractor's License. Over the years, he has perfected his craft and has been asked by the State Contractors License Board to help train other contractors. David has contributed to the development of standards for Sanitation System Inspections at the invitation of the County Health Department. David Rupp and Thrifty Plumbing and Heating are recognized in the community for their skill and exceptional service.

An fyi to Yelp readers that Northstar Plumbing has taken over this phone number. Apparently Thrifty Plumbing is no longer in business, at least in Lake Arrowhead. Sadly, Justin did not move to Northstar with this business change, we quite appreciated his honesty and knowledge. I have an appointment for tomorrow, will update with the experience.

Thrifty Plumbing and heating, does a bait and switch, they tell you one thing over the phone and then sends you a docu sign for another date. They don't show up the day they verbally told me on the phone. Don't do their docu sign it's their way to keep you obligated to them. Awful customer service. Will never use them again.

We used Thrifty to assess am issue with our heater blowing cold air. It was the beginning of winter, so they were understandably very busy. We were told we'd have to wait three weeks, but that was better than other places quoted. We have a fireplace, and it was beginning of November, were fine until then. The very nice scheduler said they'd put us on a list in case there was a chance to fit us in sooner. Luckily just that thing happened two weeks out.
The repair man showed up on time, and was very clean, friendly, and professional. He asked thorough questions and assess the situation fully. He finds have time us we needed a new heater, but he was very honest. He did a couple of tests to be sure and found that we only needed a new thermostat. He answered all of our questions in detail and in ways that we could understand.
He offered to install thermostat for free if we ordered through him. Otherwise, he said it was so very simple to do we can do ourselves, and he even showed us how and sent us detailed explanation on how to do it with one we would go buy ourselves. He offered advice on thermostat types and brands.
Definitely will use again!

I never leave Yelp reviews, but I wanted to for this one. Honestly, I'd never use another plumber other than Thrifty Plumbing on the mountain. Justin is awesome, as is all staff I've ever encountered, from techs to office staff. I highly, highly recommend using them for anything up the mountain.

Great experience. Easy to reach, schedule. Arrives on time and performs work as agreed. Had similar work done off the mountain for far less money which is why I knock a star off...pricing is not very good. But trades in the mountains tend to be unreliable and these are people are not. Will use again.

This business is beyond unprofessional and a complete rip off. Suggested things that weren't even necessary. Had to have them back 3 times. Ended up costing almost $3,000 to snake my water line.

Justin and thrifty plumbing restored my faith in mountain contractors. Honest and fair about the whole process. Thank you for a job well!!!!

Justin from Thrifty Plumbing came to our cabin in Skyforest to inspect the septic system. A few months ago, we had the1,000 gallon tank pumped and we're told the line from the tank to the leach lines was blocked. Justin worked alone for three hours cleaning all the lines, removing roots from the distribution box, and drawing a detailed sketch of our system. He did an excellent job and was very pleasant to work with. I would definitely recommend Thrifty Plumbing for septic system repairs or maintenance.

The only reason I gave Thrifty 4 stars instead of 5 is because it pains me to pay as much as I did for about an hour's worth of work to snake a drain.
My mother told me I should become a plumber, but I didn't listen - oh foolish me! I'd be driving a Tesla today instead of a Ford Pinto.
That being said, Justin was congenial, professional, answered all of my questions, and even made a suggestion to help me avoid future basement floods. So, he gets the 5 stars *****.

I recently needed multiple inspections performed while purchasing a home. Each time, I found Thrifty Plumbing to be very helpful. Carol in the office is very pleasant to work with as well as very responsive. Dave was the person who performed the inspections each time and not only was he professional but timely and thorough. I'm glad to know I've found a plumbing company when I do finally close on my new home.
